This is an incredibly unique space in downtown Lynchburg, as it's hard to find better views of the James River anywhere in Lynchburg. The apartment is part of an addition onto a 1901 historic home and has many unique characteristics such as a wall of lathe made out of wood original to the house, a sliding pocket door to the bathroom, a sliding historic door to the bedroom, a European upflush plumbing system, and shiplap in the bathroom.

BEDROOM: king bed

LIVING ROOM: queen sleeper sofa, cable tv with Netflix, 2 sitting chairs

DINING ROOM: table and chairs, closet

KITCHEN: stainless steel range/stove, fridge, microwave, Keurig w/ some K-cups, deep porcelain sink, custom shelving and cabinet, basic kitchen necessities (pots/pans, glassware, utensils, paper products, etc)

BATHROOM: shower, vessel sink, built in shelving, towels, hair dryer, shampoo, soap, and upflush toilet system

OUTSIDE: entrance is a set of private French doors that allow lots of natural light and beautiful views of the James River and Scotts Mill Dam, wooden deck with chair

CLIMATE CONTROL

The apartment has an energy efficient ductless air unit, and combined with a double layer of insulation, it stays cool in the summer and warm all winter long. Guests may adjust temperature to their liking with a remote.

PARKING

We offer a designated parking spot in our driveway to guests. For a second vehicle, street parking is also allowed.

WHAT'S AROUND

The house is in a national historic district, and the neighborhood is full of beautiful, architecturally diverse historic homes. Downtown shops and restaurants are a 10 minute walk. At the end of the street is an entrance to the Blackwater Creek trail system, which includes miles of scenic, paved walking and biking trails. Point of Honor, the plantation home of Patrick Henry's physician, Dr. George Cabell, is only a stones throw away. We are only a quick 10-12 minutes away from Liberty University and even closer to the University of Lynchburg and Randolph College.

Où se situe le logement

Lynchburg, Virginie, États-Unis

Daniel's Hill is a beautiful, historic neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Lynchburg's shops, restaurants, and events. Just a stones throw away from the house is Point of Honor, the plantation home of Patrick Henry's physician which is now a museum open to tour. Our street ends at an entrance to the Blackwater Creek Trail system, which provides guests miles of paved (and unpaved) walking, hiking and bike trails.

In our neighborhood, you'll find some brick-paved roads flanked with historic lamp posts, a bustling community center with a fenced-in park and playground, sidewalks in both directions, and architecturally impressive homes built from the 1820's to the early 1900's.

The people in our neighborhood are just as beautiful and diverse as the houses themselves, ranging from residents who have lived in the neighborhood for 50+ years and others who are new to Lynchburg. On the block alone, there families with young children, single professionals, and elderly couples. It is a "front porch" neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and they watch out for one another. We love this neighborhood and are proud to call it our family's home.

I'm a musician (violin) and a teacher by trade, but in 2019, my husband, Marc, and I left 17 years of campus ministry to enter the world of entrepreneurship! We've got a unique family and don't often feel like we "fit in" and so it's created a passion in us to create inviting spaces where anyone can belong. We own properties of our own & co-host for others who have joined the All Belong Collective. If you need help finding a great place to stay, chances are we can help! When you step into one of the All Belong Co Airbnb's, we want everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from, to feel welcome.
