A large, bright room upstairs in an old, restored, farmhouse on half an acre, that has been turned into rain gardens and a backyard habitat. This is in the Overlook neighborhood of N. Portland, which overlooks Swan Island. You can walk to the river, the Mississippi Arts neighborhood, or explore cool eateries, cafes, pubs, and entertainment close by. Public transportation is convenient, making this a great place to start exploring all Portland has to offer. I keep extra bikes for guests to rent, and provide secure bike storage. You are welcome to enjoy the common areas, and there is a great kitchen, so cooking is encouraged. There is always a project going on in the garden, so feel free to join in, or just kick back and enjoy a green, peaceful refuge in the city. Leela the German Shepard, and Mzcora the cat, live here also, and will welcome you!

This is an accredited Accessory Short Term Rental with no more than 2 bedrooms rented to guests staying less than 30 days. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-HO

Règlement intérieur
Non fumeur
Ne convient pas aux animaux
Pas de fête ni de soirée
Peut ne pas convenir aux enfants (0-12 ans)
L'entrée dans les lieux se fait à partir de 14:00

The house and premises are tobacco free
No eating or drinking in the bedrooms- there is a dining room for this
There are no locks on the bedroom doors; this is an old farmhouse where I live, not a hotel
Bathrooms and kitchen need to be clutter free; you will have your own drawer for toiletries, and cabinet space and place in the fridge for your personal items
Parking is not provided; there is parking on Gay street, and secure bike parking in the garage
This is an Eco house; we recycle and compost, turn off lights when not using the area, and try to reduce our carbon footprint
Leela the dog can only go out on a leash; please do not leave the door open or she will escape
Mzcora the cat has a cat door to come and go as she pleases.
Regrettably I am not able to host other pets
We are full time students or working, so it's usually a quiet and peaceful refuge after midnight.

FOR LONGTERM GUESTS (1 month or more) :
Housekeeping is not included; all cleaning of the kitchen, bathrooms and common areas is done by those who choose to live here, so we all have a sparkling clean home. If for any reason you are not able to leave your room as found, and help maintain the common areas we can make another plan. This will likely involve you hiring a cleaner, or deciding to live in a place that has maid service.
These are single occupancy rooms; I want your friends ( and mine) to feel welcome- but please check with the host

Si vous annulez jusqu'à 7 jours avant le voyage, vous recevez un remboursement à hauteur de 50 % et les frais de service vous sont remboursés intégralement.

Being a student, the place was perfect for my needs. Taizz was very welcoming and went out of her way to help me. I would recommend her place unreservedly.

The best airbnb experience I've had! Taizz is welcoming, inclusive, fun, interesting, and an awesome human! Her airbnb feels more like a home than a hotel. If you like biking, beers, cooking, and great conversation, this is the place for you!

After confirming my reservation at sunny room Taizz contacted me to see if I needed any help, see did organise a Taxi to pick me up at the airport which was a great help, she has been very helpful throughout my stay in Portland and helped me out with a bike and lots of information on finding my way around Portland.

Taizz is a wonderful and caring host. Her homemade kombucha was a special treat. Her home is beautiful and well suited for visitors to feel immediately at home. As I'd never been to Portland before, Taizz was very helpful in making sure I could access this great town from helping me locate a great used bicycle, to local mass transit, and nice walkable routes in the neighborhood. The Overlook area is nice quiet neighborhood that allowed for easy access to all parts of the city (especially the Mississippi and Alberta districts). I highly recommend staying with Taizz for your visit to Portland.

Taizz's house is a fantastic place. There's amazing cooking, homemade kombucha, and food for the garden up for grabs; great tunes to hear, if you're interested; a dog and cat I grew to love; and Taizz herself, who is the coolest and nicest. The room I stayed in was beautiful and spacious with lovely furnishings and a cool view of the forest over Northwest Portland in the distance. If you'll be looking to get downtown (either east or west/Pearl District) from here, the public transport commute is about 10 minutes shorter than Maps says it will be. There's an easy, well-maintained footpath that gets you from the house to TriMet bus stops 2201 and 2202 in three minutes. In summary: a wonderful place.

Great monthly stay! Everything as advertised. (Excellent homemade Kombucha). Taizz was a wonderful host; a delight to talk with as well. She believes in respecting the privacy of her guest(s) and manages her home with integrity and fairness. Say "hi" to Leela for me.
