Stay in this small characterful wooden house, in a village close to Amsterdam. You have your own bedroom, and share the rest of the house. In a quiet neighborhood close to nature, and close to transport to get you into Amsterdam.
You have your own spacious bedroom with plenty of natural light, containing a large double bed which can be separated to 2 single beds - please mention if you would prefer this.
There is ample cupboard space, and hanging space in the wardrobe.
There is also an easy chair, and a writing desk and chair.
Accès des voyageurs
I live at home, so you will have shared use of the rest of the house: living room, kitchen, bathroom, and the terrace by the canal behind the house.
Free use of wi-fi, tv, music system, CDs, DVDs, and books.
Be aware that the bathroom is downstairs while the bedroom is upstairs. The bathroom contains a bath with shower, toilet, wash basin and hair dryer.
Breakfast is not provided, but you can help yourself to free coffee and tea. Guests can use the kitchen which contains an electric oven and gas cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, coffee maker and the washing machine.
Échanges avec les voyageurs
I live here and will be at home sometimes during the days and evenings. We will be sharing the living space, where you can relax, use the internet, watch tv or listen to music.
A warning for taller guests - there are low ceilings in the bedroom and bathroom at 2,05 meters.
The stairs to the bedroom are rather steep and narrow (see photo) and do not have a hand rail - may not be suited for guests with limited mobility.
Please take note if you will be departing from Amsterdam Central Station or Schiphol Airport early in the morning. The earliest bus to Amsterdam Central Station departs Landsmeer at 5:36 on weekdays, 6:35 on Saturday and 7:27 on Sunday and public holidays. You should allow 20 minutes to get to Amsterdam Central Station, or 1 hour to get to Schiphol. If this will be too late for your check-in then the only other option is a taxi which can be quite expensive.
Unfortunately I cannot accept young children as guests because there is an unprotected water course at the back terrace.
No pets, no drugs, and no non-Airbnb guests.
No smoking in the house.
Please don't wear your shoes in the house, slippers are provided.
After using the kitchen please wash the dishes and utensils and put them away.
Most importantly, have fun and enjoy your stay.

I am an Australian living in the Netherlands for over 30 years, now retired. Since moving to Europe I have traveled widely for my work and vacations and I return to Australia regularly for family visits. I enjoy meeting people from all corners of the globe, swapping stories and learning from each other.
When at home I like to cycle in the countryside, and kayak or take the boat to the nature reserves near my house (the district where I live is called Waterland).
