Hello! We are a friendly couple with a 3 year old daughter. We live in an Edwardian house in a quiet neighbourhood of South East London (zone 3).

Enjoy our garden, gym facilities, comfy bedroom and newly renovated bathroom, and take advantage of this peaceful place as your base from which to explore London.

Parking is free outside our house.

Le logement
Our house was built in 1907 and we love its high ceilings and feeling of space.

We enjoy not being overlooked by other houses, so our back garden is a very private space, and across the road is a park / playing field, complete with a vintage café open between 10am and 2.30pm every day apart from Sundays (note- closed 18-30 Aug for owner’s holiday!) which serves excellent coffee, sandwiches and incredible cake!

Your room is newly refurbished and has a double sofa bed in. If you want to work or study, you simply need to fold back the end part of the sofa bed and you can sit at the original Victorian writing desk and enjoy the views across south London.

Accès des voyageurs
We don't allow guests to cook or heat up food in our kitchen as this is one of the main areas we use as a family, but you are welcome to help yourself to coffee, hot chocolate or tea. We also provide bottled water for your room, and if you need to store food we can offer you space in the fridge.

The bathroom you will be using is fully refurbished and only used sporadically by our daughter and any other guests using the first floor, as we have a bathroom on the top floor of the house, where we sleep. All bathrooms have tap water that you can drink.

The garden is available for you to relax in. We also have a gym that you can use. This is at the very end of our garden so very private, and has a treadmill, rowing machine, rack, free weights and mat. You can use it in the evening as late as you like as it is fully lit. Please note that you must take responsibility for your health when using the gym.

Autres remarques
Please note that we have a cat (adopted, with one eye!) who is very friendly. We try to keep him out of bedrooms and he stays downstairs in the (locked) kitchen during quiet time at night.

We will give you a key to use while you are with us.

Things to see nearby:
South East London is a very vibrant area with lots to do and see, including the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill which hosts a number of important collections, an aquarium, petting zoo, café and landscaped gardens, and Crystal Palace Park, a Victorian pleasure ground which was built to be the magnificent setting for the relocated and enlarged Crystal Palace, which was designed for the 1851 Great Exhibition in Hyde Park. Crystal Palace Park has a boating lake, giant dinosaur statues, maze, urban farm, Italian terraces and the National Sports Centre, and is a great day out.

We can provide more ideas for days out in South East London and Central London if you would like us to.

Shops / facilities nearby
A range of shops are within a 5 minute walk of our house, on Sandhurst Parade. These include Good Food – a deli / café with great coffee, locally-made bread and cake, plus locally sourced products, Coop – a small supermarket, Jerk Scene – a takeaway shop serving jerk chicken and other Caribbean meals, and Archibalds – a café which does good coffee and breakfast / brunch. The nearest pharmacy is Lloyds Chemist on Torridon Road – a 5 minute walk from our house.

Catford is a 15 minute walk from our house and you’ll find more shops, cafés and restaurants here. Worth a visit is Little Nan’s Bar – well known for creative cocktails, Sapporo Ichiban – a very reasonable and delicious Japanese restaurant, and pubs Catford Constitutional Club and Catford Bridge Tavern. In terms of supermarkets there is a large Lidl and Tesco, and chemists / pharmacies including Boots and Superdrug.

I live in London with my husband Jens, my little girls, Mia and Sienna, and our cat, Cody in a 4 bed Edwardian house. I work for a music education charity, bringing high quality music education to underprivileged children in inner-city London. I am a musician myself (I play the violin and piano) and am passionate about giving the opportunities I have had throughout my life to others. I love travel, particularly Italy, Spain and Thailand. There are some beautiful beaches here in England that I enjoy visiting, too. As a guest I'm very relaxed as long as the accommodation is clean, the bed comfy and the shower pressure good!
