Basement studio space located in one of Portlands classic older neighborhoods. Space created for guests to have a peaceful and relaxing place to rest after a day exploring Portland. Good location to hop on public transportation (max and bus lines) for exploring the city.
The space is a mix of modern and vintage. It is private from the rest of the house. We designed and did a lot of the work ourselves. We want our guests to have a beautiful and restful place to stay.
The studio has a custom built kitchenette with thought out details for cooking. It includes a hot plate, electric frying pan, smart oven ( heats up to 500degrees), electric kettle, and mini fridge.
The bathroom has a huge tiled shower with excellent water pressure.
The bed is a queen sized, needle and tuft mattress. It is very comfortable. It is covered with 100% cotton sheets and the duvet is changed between each guest. We love nice linens and feel that they are very important for your comfort.
It is cool in the summer and warm and cozy in the winter months.
Some amenities included WiFi, cable TV ( hbo, showtime, starz) and on demand TV. We can also provide a foam mattress with linens for an additional guests.
The studio is located on the bottom floor of our house. Our house is 100 years old. It cracks and creeks...its charming..if you like that sort of thing. :) We have insulated the studio to help decrease on sound. We are very conscious of you and will limit any noise we can. Some sounds will travel.
Accès des voyageurs
You will enter the studio thru the shared back door of the house which is easily accessible so you can come and go as you please.
Guest have access to the studio and the back yard. House is private.
Our normal checkin time is 3pm, however on a rare occasion, when we are both working we cannot have the studio ready until 5:00 or so. We will communicate with you if this is the case.

We are pretty much hands off hosts. But are happy to help you navigate around Portland. We respect your privacy. We will never knock on your door or bother you unless there is an urgent issue. We have animals. A sweet dog and two cats. They are not allowed in the studio but you may be greeted by them. We have a lock box so people can self check in if we are not able to be home when you arrive. We are always reachable. We look forward to meeting you.
It is an easy walk (5-15 minutes) to light rail or the bus. Uber is active in Portland. Close to airport, downtown (4miles), and the Pearl (4 miles). Walking distance to neighborhood highlights including restaurants, coffee shops, breweries and wine bars. If you like walking you can walk to hip neighborhoods (Division/Alberta/Hawthorne/Beaumont) 2-3 miles

My husband, Mike and I are in love with Oregon, both natives. We currently split time between Mosier Oregon (Columbia Gorge) to work in our garden and Portland Oregon. In Mosier we attend to a garden that we sell locally to farmers markets and a couple restaurants. We love traveling, hiking, cycling, gardening, and meeting other travelers. We find a real joy in hosting.
