This beautiful and restful four-season cottage near bay and ocean beaches combines the comfort and ease of modern amenities with the charm of exposed beams and plank floors. The building, a renovated barn, has two stories, fifteen by twenty feet, with an attached full bathroom. Downstairs the open floor plan has a comfortable seating area with a daybed/couch, a dining table, and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen. French doors lead to a screened-in porch with table and chairs, creating a sense of continuous space, inside and out. Upstairs is light and airy, with windows looking over the back hill, gardens, and a large cherry tree full of songbirds. Real artwork adorns the walls and there is a well stocked book case including poetry and art sections. There is a high-quality queen bed and single bed by the windows (perfect for reading and daydreaming). The cottage is located on a large property next to a 150-year-old, cape-style farmhouse surrounded by vegetable and flower gardens. Organic vegetables, eggs and honey are all produced on the property and can be purchased when available. Situated in Pond Village in North Truro, bay beaches are just a ten minute walk down historic Pond Road. Ocean beaches are only a ten minute bike ride away. A TV, DVD player, iPod dock and WiFi allow you to connect to the modern world. There is also a basement with a washer/dryer and on-site parking. Summer visits are full of breezes, and winter stays are warmed by a state-of-the art heating system installed in 2013. This is an ideal getaway at any season for two or three people.

We live next door in the main house and respect and honor the privacy of our renters. We are always happy to help or answer questions if needed.
We have spent may years making the cottage a delightful and cozy retreat and only ask that our guests respect the cottage and grounds and leave it in the good clean condition as they found it. There is no smoking. At present we don't allow pets under most circumstances.
My wife, Janice Redman, and I are both artists and exhibit our work widely. We teach locally in the summers and tend our extensive organic gardens from which we love to share with our renters when available. We also keep bees, chickens, and enjoy swimming, biking and hiking in the surrounding miles of National Seashore. Our ten year old son enjoys nature, reading and playing his viola. We delight in hosting people in our cottage which we have lovingly restored and take pleasure in making it the most wonderful experience for our renters.
