Halls Lake Cottage is ideal for families with children looking for a large beach, with safe, sandy shallow water. The beach is possibly one of the largest private beaches in the area. The property is exceptionally private with over 360’ of your own waterfront and 14 acres with numerous trails and a scenic lookout to explore. The cottage is close to the water for easy access and to keep an eye on kids at the beach. The property faces west in a quiet bay for afternoon sun & evening sunsets with a grassy area at back for playing and sun throughout the day. The bay has over 1200 feet of waterfront with only two other cottages in the bay.
The cottage is spacious and clean with a large open concept layout. There is comfortable sleeping for at least 8 in 3 bedrooms, with 2 bathrooms and a finished walkout basement accented in pine with a cozy woodstove. There is a screened in porch that adjoins the hot tub room for lounging. The raised ceilings and large windows provide a bright atmosphere in a comfortable living room with rustic hardwood floors open to the spacious dining area and large kitchen.
Lounge on the wraparound deck directly overlooking the lake, or sit at the beach and enjoy sun or a swim to the raft with the kids. Boats include a family sized canoe, 2 kayaks, paddleboat and rowboat. Halls Lake is a large Haliburton lake rated very clean. You can boat to the public beach & playground or go tubing in the river at the top of Halls Lake.

You will have full access to 14 acres of property with hiking trails along with 360 feet of waterfront including your own private beach.
The cottage is just 2 hours from Canada’s Wonderland area near Carnarvon. Its on the East end of Muskoka / West side of Haliburton. Its only 15 - 20 minutes to Minden, Dorset and Haliburton village. Local attractions within 7 minutes include Stanhope park & playground, tennis, library, museum, trails, mini-golf, ATV / OFSC snowmobile trails, golf, many restaurants and stores with gas, ice cream & LCBO. Other nearby attractions include Sir Sams downhill skiing, Haliburton Forest, Parasailing, Algonquin park and more.
No Pets and No Smoking Policy. Full agreement available by email.
The Renter is expected to leave the cottage in the same condition that it was in upon their arrival, and is responsible for the cleaning of the cottage before departing.
OVERVIEW OF TERMS OF AGREEMENT:
The Renter agrees to abide by the restrictions set forth by the Owner and shall be responsible for any and all guests, for adherence to the restrictions.
Bookings shall be confirmed by email from the Owner on approval of application and on receipt of payments covering the rental, and the security deposit. The issuance of confirmation to the Renter by the Owner shall complete a binding contract between the Renter and the Owner. The renter agrees that this agreement may be executed by email or facsimile transmission, and that the signatures will evidence the binding obligation of the parties to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.
The security deposit for $ 1,000 is required with all bookings and is to be dated 45 days before the first day of your stay. The Owner will return by email or cheque for the full amount of $ 1,000 within 45 days of the end of your stay, providing that the cottage is left as it was found: no additional cleaning is required, no damage to the cottage or the equipment supplied, the key has been returned to the lock box, no smoking or pets inside, all garbage removed and long distance phone, internet, or television costs reconciled. Any violation of the rental agreement including additional repairs or cleaning is the responsibility of the Renter and will result in forfeit of the deposit and coverage of additional costs if required.
Any cancellation will result in forfeit of all rental monies paid unless the Owner is successful in re-booking the accommodation for the period of the cancelled booking. If rebooking is successful, the Owner shall refund to the Renter the ‘50% Deposit’ and/or ‘Balance’ less a cancellation fee of up to $500 per cancelled week or part thereof. In the event of cancellation, the Security Deposit will be returned in full. The Owner may cancel at any time in the event of unforeseen circumstances or disaster beyond the Owners control. In the event of such cancellation, all contracts will be null and void and payments refunded in full.
The information contained in any printed material, and photographs is accurate at the time of publication. The Owner reserves the right to make any changes it deems necessary to more accurately reflect the cottage property. The Owner accepts no liability for any act, neglect or default. Boats, electronics, and other such equipment are supplied at the discretion of the Owner as an added feature for the Renter. Every attempt will be made to ensure that such equipment and all other appliances are in working order for the Renter’s vacation. Should any breakdown or other situation occur whereby these items are not available for the term of the rental period, the Owner will attempt to have these corrected, but will not take responsibility for replacing or refunding the Renter for the lack of use of these elements.
The maximum occupancy without prior approval from the owner is 8 persons comprised of a single family and up to one additional adult couple. Renters who have guests at the property in excess of 1 family and/or 8 persons must note them on the Cottage Rental Application and be approved by the owner. The Renter will be subject to a guest charge of up to $200 per person per week or face eviction without refund at the discretion of the Owner. Sub-letting of the cottage property is not permitted. The property owner and / or personnel representing the owner shall be allowed access to the cottage at any reasonable time during the Renters occupancy. The Renter shall be fully responsible for all guests.
Pets and Smoking
The cottage has a firm “No Pets” and “No Smoking” policy. The Owner does not take responsibility for allergies or other conditions arising at the cottage. Allowing a pet or any smoking will result in forfeit of the full security deposit plus all applicable additional cleaning fees inside and outside.
The Renter is expected to leave the cottage in the same condition that it was in upon their arrival, and is responsible for the cleaning of the cottage before departing. Cleaning supplies are provided. The Renter agrees to read and abide by the Household Rules and to use the inventory and equipment in a safe and responsible manner. Any additional cleaning required, breakage or damage to inventory, equipment or any other part of cottage property, due to negligence whether willful or by accident will result in the Renter forfeiting the Security Deposit plus additional costs if required.
Rental excludes the use of the owner’s personal motorized watercraft, the outbuildings on the property and owner’s property stored in the outbuildings and in the cottage. Personal floatation devises (lifejackets) and Boater’s Safety Kits are required by law and are not supplied by Owner.
Renter(s) acknowledge that the Owners accept no liability for loss, damage, death, illness, or injury suffered by the Renter(s) and/or his/her guests, as a result of using this rental. The Renter(s) acknowledges that the use of the property is entirely at the Renter(s) own risk. The Renter(s) shall indemnify and hold harmless the Owner’s against and from any and all expenses, costs, damages, suits, actions or liabilities arising from any and all loss of or damage to personal property, injury, personal condition or death resulting from the use of the rental property, grounds, boats and lake use. The owner carries insurance on dwelling and contents, not the property, valuables, or clothing of the Renter(s). It is therefore the Renter(s) responsibility to insure against any unforeseen damage or loss of the Renter(s) own possessions.
If any provisions of this agreement are invalid, such provisions shall be considered separable and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
The Renter shall not be entitled to any refund arising from weather or water conditions, changes or fluctuations in the lake level, conditions at neighbouring cottages or other conditions beyond the control of the Owner.
The parties agree that this contract shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and agree to attorn solely to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario with respect to any and all disputes arising out of the interpretation and application of this contract.
