This house/cottage is 40 minutes from Ottawa and 10 minutes from Wakefield. Situated by a lake and near Edelweiss, it is perfect for summer or winter getaways. The surrounding area is wooded and very quiet.
Access to the lake is a two-minute walk. It is down a path through the property, across a rarely-used dirt road, and down another short path down to the water.
The house has one bedroom downstairs and two bedrooms upstairs, along with an open loft space. From the second floor there are beautiful views of the surrounding hills.

You will have access to the whole house, the wooded property surrounding the house, the dock and the lake. You can walk on the property, although parts of it are on a steep hill, and walk along the dirt roads in the community. The best hiking is in Gatineau Park and around Meech Lake, which are both 20-30 minutes away by car. Lac la Peche, in Gatineau Park, has sandy beaches, as well.

The lake is very deep and great for swimming and canoeing. The cottage is located in a quiet bay on the lake. There are no speedboats and almost all cottages are set back from the shore. There is no sandy beach on the lake. Access to the lake if from a dock with a ladder.
The house is perched on a hill, surrounded by trees, which means beautiful views from the second floor, but no extended yard. The roads leading up to the cottage, as well as the driveway, are steep.
The house is pet-friendly and non-smoking. The pantry is stocked and you are welcome to all that is there. If you want to leave something behind for the next guests, you are welcome to do so.
