Brixton is über-desirable in its own right with a new generation of young and affluent fashion-conscious professionals, City commuters, creatives and other “media types” living here adding to the cosmopolitan mix of inhabitants. It has long been home to London's Afro Caribbean community, but then let’s not forget the Vietnamese, Chinese, Middle Eastern, poets, musicians, artists, activists, anarchists and bohemians, any of whom, potentially, could lay claim to SW9.

Brixton is lively and eclectic, and boasts a vibrant day life and an equally vibrant night life in the plethora of pubs, clubs and restaurants that line its streets. It has a buzzing market and big music venues, including the 02 Brixton Academy, Electric Brixton and the warehouse-style Plan B.

Brixton's restaurants are contemporary and serve an array of international fare; Brixton Village market – has been transformed into a bustling day and evening shopping precinct with more than 20 shops, cafes and restaurants. On top of this, there's the Ritzy Cinema, a windmill and Brockwell Park - a large, historic park with ornamental ponds, formal flower beds, a walled 'Old English' herbaceous flower garden and a charming 19th century clock tower, including Brockwell Hall and the Brockwell Lido.

Located at the end of the Victoria line, on the border of zones two and three, Brixton is a mere 10-minute commute into central London. Bus links are also choice.

The location is ideal for fast commuting to any part of the city on any mode of public transport. Brixton Tube has fast tubes into Victoria, 4 stations away, within 12mins and to Oxford Circus 6 stations away within 15mins. There are 4 overground train stations to all parts of London and beyond all less than a mile from the house. The train lines are Connex, Thames Link, Southern and SouthEast.
There are also lots of buses to all parts of London going to ALL major sights on a single bus ride (London Eye, Big ben, Westminister Abbey, Downing St, Nelson's Column, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, Covent Garden, Oxford-,Regent-, Carnaby Street, Marble Arch, Hyde Park and Paddington Basin as well as to Waterloo-, Liverpool Street-, London Bridge-, Blackfriars-, Euston-, King's Cross and St Pancrass International Station.

Claudia's flat was in a good location (residential but in walking distance to the main part of Brixton) and looked exactly like the pictures. Claudia was very welcoming and helpful.

Everything we needed for a night out in Brixton with Friends. Host was flexible on check in and communication was great. A 5 minute Uber from the tube!

Claudia was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable the moment we arrived. She answered all of our questions and provided us everything from towels to anything in the fridge! In all seriousness this place was very convenient, clean and comfortable.

The host is friendly and welcoming. The home is impressive and has some interesting artwork decorating the already impressive space. Would recommend as a start to a Brixton night out, or a post business meeting retreat.

I'm originally from Germany, living in London for the past 16 years. I like doing things on a grand scale - big ideas, ornate gestures, great ambitions. Due to my imagination and inquisitive nature I'm attracted by 'the different' and take a lot of gratification in exploring different ways in life. With a passionate drive I fill my days to the brim with creative activity. I have been led all over the world by my love of yoga, exploring asana, meditation and Tantra.
Nowadays I teach yoga - a movement meditation, an offering of how you move through life and conveying this stillness and freedom. My classes are slow and strong, challenging and peaceful, like riding a big wave in the ocean.
