The Red Roof Loft is located conveniently less than 1.5 miles from the SC Equine Park and quick and easy access to Interstate 20. Camden dining, antiques shopping, historic revolutionary park and all things Camden horse community are all within a 10 minute drive. And if you are looking for more adventure, shopping, dining and the like, Columbia is a short 30 minute drive straight over on I20!! If you've come to enjoy a USC football game, you can be at the stadium in less than 45 minutes!!

There is plenty of room at Firefly to park horse trailers, RVs or any other large vehicle. The farm also boasts plenty of paddock space if your travels require it.

You will be welcome in all areas of Firefly Farm. We have a pool and outdoor kitchen and entertaining space located adjacent to the loft BUT PLEASE NOTE****THIS AREA IS RESERVED ONLY FOR GUESTS STAYING IN THE COTTAGE--NOT THE LOFT!! HOWEVER, IF THERE IS NO ONE STAYNG IN THE COTTAGE AND YOU ARE OUR ONLY GUESTS AT THE FARM, YOU WILL BE WELCOME TO ENJOY THE SPACE. Just inquire with the host to be sure. Unfortunately, it is not cost effective for us to warm the spa or run the waterfall for Loft guests but you are welcome to use the pool at your leisure.

You are welcome to walk throughout the grounds of the property, swing beneath an old oak tree, pet a horse (but please be careful!), relax in the hammock or play on the play set. If no one is in the guest cottage, you are welcome to use the outdoor kitchen. Just inquire with the host first, please. The choice is yours. We want to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

We will interact with our guests as much or as little as you like. Our home is located on the farm a short distance from the loft. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have or help in any way. We are a busy family of 4 and we come and go all the time, but our youngest is 6 so he also plays in the space often. You will find him swinging, running, riding his bike, picking in the garden and doing all the things that little boys do!

Camden is South Carolina's oldest inland city. Steeped in history and situated 20 minutes from the Columbia metropolitan area, Camden offers quaint shopping, varied dining and a very appealing and relaxing small-town lifestyle. You are certain to find Camden's appeal irresistible!
Camden, known as "The Steeplechase Capital of the World" is home to the Carolina Cup and Colonial Cup, which bring visitors from across the globe for the sports of steeplechase racing and tailgating. You can rise early and go watch as thoroughbreds train at Springdale Race Course or tour the National Steeplechase Museum located on the grounds.

You will need a vehicle to get to our house. Camden is served by two Amtrak trains per day in a lovely new depot that has just been completely renovated. Additionally, Columbia Metropolitan Airport is about 45 minutes away. Camden also boasts a small municipal airport.

You will find convenient and plentiful parking here. If you have a horse trailer or boat with you, we have plenty of room for that, too!! There is no public transportation available so a vehicle is a must. There are several roads that many bike or run/walk in the area.

We do charge a small cleaning fee but ask that you still please leave the space tidy upon departure. Please clean up any spills or debris from the floors upstairs immediately. There is a broom and dustpan available behind the bathroom door as well as paper towels to clean up spills.

I'm a busy business owner and mom of three: 17, 15 and 5. We live on a beautiful farm with 5 dogs, a cat and 3 horses in our paddock and 1 other is boarded at a neighboring farm. I have an eclectic taste in many things but a few of my "loves" are colored glass, art work, decorating, gardening, music (Tony Bennett, Sinatra, Prince, Allison Krause, Diana Krall to name a few), white wine, an ice cold beer on a hot day, great food and friends.

Firefly Farm is located in central SC, right outside the cozy historic town of Camden. Camden is home of the annual spring Carolina Cup steeplechase race, sometimes called the "biggest outdoor cocktail party in the south".

I have traveled extensively across the globe my entire life with my Air Force dad and continued during my own 22-year Air Force career. I love to travel off the beaten path and have been very fortunate to visit many wonderful and interesting places during my military travels. Some of my most memorable destinations are Baghdad, Misawa Japan, Germany and Mallorca. My dad was also career military so I have moved and traveled my entire life. I am the youngest (and only girl) of three and mom and dad have been married 55 years and are still going strong!

I retired from the AF in 2006 and decided to plant some roots for my children. Camden, South Carolina is now our forever home!

Five things I can't live without: My children, coffee, flowers, a good wine and--I hate to admit it--my phone! :-)
