Description

Ready for a rodeo in Joshua Tree, California is a 1952 Shasta, 7x26 foot trailer home, beautifully restored with original wood interior.

This Western themed trailer is placed on Mumsie's 5 acre parcel facing the town of Joshua Tree and the Joshua Tree National Park.

Wooden covered deck porch and stars await. Awesome cool!

Found this beauty, a 1952 Shasta trailer for sale in Quartzsite, Arizona where it had been for over forty years with a roof and building surrounding it. The deal was to tear down the building in order to get the trailer. My brother Dan and I did just that and salvaged all the Cowboy wood and tin roofing.

It has a rear bedroom with a full comfy new mattress on an antique 1800's iron bed frame and original metal box spring (a little springier then most so hold on). Will sleep three.

Note: very compact bathroom and shower. Not a good fit for larger folks.

A lot of storage, big refrigerator, electric antique stove, electric heaters in living room and bedroom. Nice kitchen well stocked for cooking and everything else you might need. Also a wagon wheel sofa in living room and small table and chairs, so can sleep three but could be crowded for some if they need the wide open space.

Coming soon, outdoor shower and wash basin for scrubbing up after a hard day on the open range, climbing or prospecting.

Much of the decor is leftover gear from my rodeo days in Layton, Utah while attending National High School Rodeo. I was young and fearless, not knowing then that I was on my Hero"s journey, but I really lived and loved the life! I wanted to be a gentle farmer and cowboy grandpa Buckley who taught me so much, I can hear him saying "Well for hell's sake" anytime one of us told him a story of what was going on in our lives.

New addition just for fun is a non regulation (35' not 40') horseshoe pit and 8 horseshoes as this is how folks on the ranch relax and visit. Please hang them back up on the porch when yer done tossin' them. A little suggestion don't park near the horseshoe pit and use common sense. We are not liable for accidents or damages you cause. Be respectful of our property and most of all have fun!!!!

Strict No pets policy here, please don't ask, we love animals and do allow them at our fenced pet friendly JTree,CA Buzzards Roost East property, which is undergoing renovations.

Also as part of energy descent plan we do not allow burning of any kind, for any reason, as an edge dweller we are enlighten by the knowledge that father sun can provide for all our energy needs. We have installed a twenty-one panel PV solar array on Mumsie's house that generates all our power and heater needs.

So we are solars, not burners and do not allow any burning including smudging, incense or candles, camp or bonfires or firearms on our property!

Furthermore we would prefer you not smoke during your stay, as all of these choices are harming this planet we all share and your own health. If you must smoke it is allowed outdoors only and we expect you to pick up and empty your butts, clean and empty your ashtray etc. into the trash can provided. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

You cannot exceed the guest limit of a trailer. The Shasta is three guests and all persons over 2 staying overnight must pay additional guest fee of $20.00 per night for use of facilitates.

We do allow requests for commercial photo shoots and filming at a flat rate of $450.00 a day, added to the nightly rate if you wish to stay. You must have insurance and proper permit as required from the County of San Bernardino. You cannot exceed the guest limit of 4 staying in the Rocket and parking is limited to three vehicles on the property at all times. Additional guests or crew must leave the property by 8 PM. Please call us prior to booking to discuss all the details for the planned shoot and to avoid any issues.

I leave that up to the guest but do enjoy letting people know what is going on and where. Have been known, if my schedule allows, to join people for hiking, meeting for dinner with live music, or to attend local art/music events which are always going on somewhere around town. If you are staying a couple days and would like me to drop by please just let me know a day in advance and what time would be good.

As always the promise of a good bottle or two of beer always helps motivate me to show up and talk permaculture till your ears bleed. I will also give you your space if all you want to do is relax and watch stars, sunrise and sunsets. I am pretty easy going and want folks to do what they want. If you want to talk water, energy or permaculture I am your guy, so I recommend again that you book at least a couple of days as this requires time and a few drinks to wrap your mind around it all.

If you are a musician, you can play to the stars at the Astronomy Theater, or an artist just feeling the land ask us and we will give you a couple of ideas still in our pipeline and you can leave a calling card sample of your creativity on this collaborative site for future guests to enjoy. We have lots of materials to play with and the space to create. An example is the piles of bottles donated by friends and visitors to be installed in a labyrinth based on an early pagan calendar. Also bottles to be used in outdoor bathhouses.

We are in a unique area with spectacular views and illumination of the park rock piles, dark night skies, star gazing, wildlife corridors, coyote, roadrunners, desert tortoise, quail, squirrels, migratory buzzards, sunsets and sunrises. And amazing blue clean clear skies with bizarre cloud formations all playing and working together to surprise your senses. Nature will find you here if you slow down below 70 mph and pay attention. At the very least you will see bunny's, lizards, and quail. I guarantee it.

Please make sure to print your itinerary since it provides really good directions. Also check out the guidebook for things to do around town. You need a car and high ground clearance for some dirt roads. Access to the Roost is served by paved roads and we keep our private dirt roads nicely graded but purposely winding to leave as much native vegetation on the land as possible. Even small creosotes bushes can be hundreds of years old. It is a remote area, with a little space left between our communities and wide open lands all around. The is a bus system on the main highway from Palm Springs Airport through to 29 Palms everyday but it is two miles to three from the roost to the main highway bus stops.

We have extreme weather shifts and it is always changing, so bring layers of clothing appropriate for the time of year. Be aware of the natives as we do have snakes and rocky or sandy washes are prone to them. Walking sticks are recommended especially when trekking on your own. We do have flash floods and monsoon rainfall, so when it happens it is something that travelers need to respect mother natures power and not drive though flooding roadways or washes. Be safe.

Items left behind will be sent to you once we receive payment. We charge $25.00 minimum to cover an hours time to go to the post office, package and postage. Simply send payment thru Airbnb resolution center and then we will ship your forgotten item to you.

There is a $28 Key Replacement Fee if the keys are not in the trailer upon your departure.
