  • We had a really great weekend at Everleigh Manor. Our host Sally is very friendly and helpful. We had everything we needed. The property is quite big and very well taken care of. The interior is very nice (I really liked the bathrooms). The kitchen is well equipped if you plan to self-cater and the dining area was also perfect for playing board games! We will definitely be back for our next games weekend!

  • Staying at the West Wing was absolutely perfect - the interior was furnished well with all modern fixtures. Sally was a great host and made us feel welcome she was also really easy to contact and available for any queries in the lead up to the stay. I would recommend the West Wing to anyone hosting an event :)

  • Very good facilities, everyone was pleasantly surprised with how good the place was. I can see this becoming a repeat booking with us as a company away day venue, and even for family gatherings. Everyone walked in and they were, "Have we really got all this to ourselves? It's amazing". Internet speeds were also very good considering the remote nature of the venue - 40Mbps down and 18Mbps up (for those interested).

    Tim2016-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very beautiful and to hotel standards, set on vast greenery. Kitchen was spacious with everything we needed. Location was perfect for a huge family getaway. Wifi and phone connections was slightly hard to catch around the remote area. Sally was a great host, very welcoming and kind. She set the dining room ready for us to use when we got there with Christmas decorations and a tree! She kindly provided us with a map for great walking routes around the area. Thank you Sally! We hope to come back again real soon!

    Sunjou2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Prior to the trip, Sally made sure we had all the information we needed and was great at answering all our questions - down to whether we needed to bring salt & pepper (we didn't)! Though she was away the weekend we had the property, she was more than happy to sort out any further questions either through her capable assistant Faye, or herself over the phone. The West Wing is brilliantly decked out and was perfect for our group of 20 - all the rooms were very smart and well turned out with great en suites. There is plenty do to around the local area, and if using the kitchen doesn't take your fancy (assuming you're renting the whole building out), then the Indian restaurant 10 minutes walk away is amazing. The West Wing is lovely building, really well looked after and now definitely finds itself on our return visit list.

  • Nice clean rooms in a beautiful location

    Jon2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This property exceeded our expectations and we wished we could have stayed longer. It was perfect to pull a group of friends together to celebrate my birthday and I would highly recommend to everyone. Sally was very welcoming and gave us lots of advice about the property. When Faye came the following day she asked if we had any ideas for improvement but we struggled to think of anything. My niece has decided she wants to get married there but she is only 12 so won't be for a while yet!!

  • Wonderful rooms, everything clean and tidy, comfortable beds. If you are not a fan of insects, remember it's in the countryside, which also means a stunning garden. Special mention to breakfast, it was awesome, high quality of ingredients and very kind staff, wide choice of drinks and food, all cooked at the moment. Excellent.

  • A top location in a glorious farm house with tremendously welcoming hosts (2 and 4 legged!). Great for couples needing a base for activities in the surrounding area. Home away from home. Pub tip: The Swan in Enford.

  • Thady and Zoe were great hosts, gave us plenty of privacy but were on hand if we needed any information. Our room was large and comfortable with tea, coffee and biscuits. The living room we had to ourselves downstairs was warm, had two large comfortable couches and tastefully decorated. The fire was burning when we arrived and had plenty of nice dry logs for our three day stay. The surrounding area was beautiful, lovely walks and a nice little pub within a stone's throw. Couldn't recommend the place enough, hopefully we'll be able to return in the summer.

    Ania2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful room and house set in a lovely location. Thady and Zoe were very accomodating and were fantastic hosts. We would definitely stay here again!

    Alice2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is quite exceptional, not just for the warmth of the welcome and the beautiful and spacious bedroom, bathroom and sitting room but for the homely, relaxed atmosphere and kind hospitality shown. We had chosen a rural setting but the beauty and tranquillity were way beyond our expectations. We loved the gardens especially and meeting the horses, before having a delicious supper in the pub close by. We highly recommend it and hope to return, not least because it was such a pleasure getting to know our warm and considerate host.

    Stephen2017-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a lovely place to stay and amazing value in an absolutely beautiful, quiet and elegant country house. Didn't meet Thady but Zoe was a lovely host - we couldn't have asked for more. Very highly recommended.

  • Our stay was incredible . The accommodation is nice and quiet and our hosts have been fantastic. Everything is very clean and homely. If you are interested in horses or dogs, this is the place to be. We definitely would love to stay there again!

  • A really lovely place to stay. The hosts made me feel very welcome and the location was ideallic and peaceful. The bedroom was well equipped, a great size and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! Great private bathroom and really clean. • Beautiful host and amazing place to stay. The attention to detail is second to none with fresh bread, yogurt, milk and much much more all there for us upon our arrival. The place is immaculate and beautifully furnished with no expense spared including a quality LARGE bed which was not expected - highly recommended!!

  • A charming hide-away suitable for singles, a couple or young family. Highly recommended. Lots to do nearby but we can particularly recommend The Harrow at Little Bedwyn where we treated ourselves to a 8 course gourmet tasting menu. Accompanying wines were so good we had to make use of a local taxi!

Lovely continental breakfasts including a coffee machine. Huge shower and luxurious bed. Wonderful hosts.

  • Thank you for a wonderful stay! The extra touches were really appreciated, especially the freshly cut flowers on the bedside table and breakfast being set-up whilst we were out for dinner. We would recommend Rick Stein's in Marlborough to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion the food and staff were 5 star.

    Heather2017-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is in a quiet country setting with lovely rural views, we especially enjoyed watching the barn owl hunting in the field on Saturday morning. Victoria and Jack were generous and welcoming hosts and we thoroughly recommend staying here for a peaceful, relaxing break. We had a lovely time, thank you.

    Sarah2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully decorated apartment in the heart of gorgeous countryside! You can tell that Victoria and Jack are considerate hosts in the way they've furnished the barn and added loads of thoughtful touches: exceptionally comfy bed, drench shower, continental breakfast, treats in the fridge, fast WiFi, secluded decking area, helpful welcome pack... my only complaint is that we didn't stay long enough! Can't recommend this place highly enough :)

  • I stayed for four nights whilst on business, looking for a complete change from hotel life. Angie and Chris were very welcoming, and had kindly provide fruit and milk to get me started. The accommodation itself was splendid, with a lovely bathroom, small but well equipped kitchen area, and a super-comfy bed. The location is so peaceful and quiet - if that's what you're looking for, then this is the place for you.

  • When we reserved this property it was our intent to use it as a base for travels and it worked perfectly. We loved the wood burning stove and due to the wonderfully cool weather we had an opportunity to start a fire on two nights. This very quaint English cottage it a great place to spend a weekend or a week or more. The hosts were very welcoming and were available for us anytime we called. Because we traveled a bit during our stay we were unable to find the time to visit our hosts as much as we would have liked. We look forward to having more time to visit them in the future.

  • What a lovely place this is! Chris and Angela made us really feel at home. We enjoyed the garden and the tenniscourt (with the new surface) very much. The house is well equiped (very nice shower.). Nice starting point for several daytrips. If we are in the neighbourhood... we will be back!

  • A lovely quiet little spot with a great terrace to enjoy the evening sunshine. Angie was always on hand to help and has decorated the place really nicely. The swimming pool was certainly a little chilly but a great reviver at the end of a long day cycling :-)

  • Cosy cottage which is lovely and done up beautifully inside. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms, small hallway adjoining them to room with kitchen, table and sofas as per photos. Good beds, linen and the amenities ie heating and hot water were plentiful! It is an excellent base for a break away as lots to do in the area. It is attached to another cottage that could be rented at the same time for larger groups. You can watch work on the farm from your windows. So if you want isolation this is not for you.

My cottage is in a pretty village in the middle of historic Wiltshire. It is single story, warm and comfortable and looks out onto fields. It is quiet and peaceful here with lots of good walks from the front door. There are lots of pubs nearby serving excellent food and our nearest town is Marlborough which has very good shopping.
  • We got married in the village and stayed at Peter's wonderful cottage - it was so special, and the perfect place for the occasion. Comfortable, clean, really nice and spacious, but cosy too - all done up recently and to a high quality - cannot recommend highly enough. And Peter was very helpful too - we loved it so much we want to buy the place!!!

In the centre of beautiful Wootton Rivers, which is nestled in a vale of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, our semi-detached family home is just perfect for enjoying and exploring the Wiltshire countryside. The house is set up for older children (age 8+), with a separate TV room and the large, quiet recreation ground directly opposite the house - which has football nets, rugby posts, basketball hoop and plenty of climbing activities! No parties or events.
We have a large kitchen/diner (fitted with all the usual appliances) with patio doors overlooking one half of the garden. The dining table can extend to seat 8. Just off this is a TV room with patio doors on to a small terraced area, a utility room with washing machine and dryer, and a downstairs toilet. Down the hallway, past the purpose built desk/workspace (available for anyone needing to bring work with them), is a sitting room with 2 large sofas and 2 armchairs and a rocking chair. The sitting room has a wood burning stove. Upstairs are 4 very comfortable bedrooms (1 en-suite), 3 of which are doubles, and the single bedroom also has a day bed available. However, it is a tight fit using this day bed with the drum kit also in the bedroom, so please do enquire if you think you'll need to use this and we can chat through options. There is garden on both sides of the house and a large recreation ground only a few feet from the front door. All sorts of sporting equipment is available for use by locals and villagers in the rec - cricket equipment, basketballs, rugby balls etc.
Wootton Rivers is a lovely example of an ancient village - first established around 900 years ago - that has changed and adapted over the centuries. A gentle stroll along the canal will allow you to enjoy watching barges going through the locks, or just down the road from the house is the 14th century St Andrew's Church with its unique clock. You can sample local ale in the 16th century pub or perhaps just breathe in the peace and quiet of the beautiful surroundings. Sunday evening (from 6pm ish) in the pub is the regular time for the local villagers to gather, should you wish to venture in and introduce yourselves!! All villagers are warm and friendly, with a super attitude to anyone visiting and enjoying the village. The 1,000 year old Savernake Forest is also on the village doorstep, London Paddington is 65 minutes from the local station (a 7 minute drive away), Stonehenge is a 45 minute drive, Highclere Castle (for all Downton Abbey fans) is again a 45 minute drive away, and Bath is an hour by car or approximately 45 minutes by train. The perfect sandy beaches of Sandbanks is 1.5 hours from this village, passing through historical Salisbury. For families with children, there are 2 indoor trampolining centres and an ice rink in Swindon, a leisure centre in Marlborough, The Hawk Conservancy in Andover, Cotswold Water Park within driving distance, and much more! There are 3 supermarkets (Co-Op, Tesco and Waitrose) all within a 10 minute drive of the village. However, we believe one of the best things about our home is that it's a 7 minute drive to Marlborough - with wonderful boutique shopping, tea rooms, pubs, restaurants (including a Rick Stein's), a traditional sweet shop, local butchers, book shops and many other attractions!

  • Simon has a brilliant house in a stunning location looking over fields to Wilton windmill. The house feels like a proper family home and we settled in very quickly. The kitchen is huge, with lots of equipment and a great dining area. The games room with projector, DVDs and games console was a bonus! Lots of nice places are within driving distance (Marlborough, Salisbury, Avebury) and nice villages close by as well. We recommend eating at the Swan in Wilton. • Pippa and Richard were very kind hosts. They have a lovely home and garden, and the room that we were given was very spacious, beautifully decorated and very clean. There was a large ensuite bathroom, and we also had a lovely sitting room downstairs for our use, which was where we had our breakfast each morning. Our breakfasts were exactly what we requested, and very enjoyable sitting at the sunny window overlooking the garden. One morning when the weather was perfect, we had the French doors open so we ate breakfast in the fresh air and sun. Pippa made sure we had everything we needed, and tidied up our room each day. Richard helped me to work out a good morning walk around the village. There was wifi in the home, although the signal did not reach to our bedroom, which unfortunately meant we could not use it there throughout our stay. We would be happy to stay with Pippa and Richard again, and recommend this B&B.

  • Yes Pippa made us feel incredibly welcome with a lovely cups of tea and a guided tour around her beautiful house which is set in the most peaceful stunning countryside.

  • The house is beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. Pippa and Richard were very friendly and accommodating. There is a pub a short walk away, and it's a perfect midway point between Stonehenge and Highclere Castle. Breakfast was delicious, looking out on their well groomed garden.

  • Pippa and Richard have a gorgeous house and could not have made us feel more welcome. We booked at incredibly short notice and yet they were extremely accommodating and everything was more than perfect. An extremely comfortable room and the most delicious breakfast. We recommend them very highly.

  • Booked Pippas place for my parents, they asked me to leave this review. Had a lovely stay here. Pippa and Richard were very welcoming, nice big bedroom and bathroom, everything was perfect! Tea and cake on arrival and a super breakfast looking out on to their beautiful garden. Would certainly stop here again. Worth every penny. Jeff and Julia

  • Pippa and Richard could not have been more gracious hosts. They went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and were both delightful hosts and enjoyable company. Their home is beautiful and if you wanted the quintessential English country home stay this is a wonderful choice. Nothing is too much trouble for these perfect hosts.

Manor Farm B&B is a friendly traditional family-run bed and breakfast in an attractive Grade 2 listed period village farmhouse. Our comfortable and spacious rooms have been awarded an AA 4 star Gold farmhouse rating. Our working arable farm has been in the family for six generations and forms part of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Tariff includes full English farmhouse breakfast. A very warm welcome and a comfortable and friendly atmosphere await you at Manor Farm.
Our large Georgian super-king size double en-suite "Master Bedroom" is the best room in the house. As well as a huge super-king size double bed this room has a sofa and dining table and still plenty of space. It has a pleasant south-facing view overlooking the converted farmyard to the downland beyond. The large en-suite bathroom has a full size enamel bath and over-bath power shower with views over the walled garden to the downland beyond. We serve breakfast in our 17th Century family dining room. As well as traditional farmhouse cooking, we also offer sumptuous breakfasts for guests who prefer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other special diets. There are several excellent local places to dine in the evening, including 'the Barley Corn' country pub, two minutes walk away. We also have two other rooms which are available to book on AirBnB; our characterful 17th Century king-size double en-suite "Rose Room" and our large Georgian "Twin Room" (two single beds) with private bathroom. All are available for single occupancy.
Manor Farmhouse is an attractive, spacious and comfortable home in which our family has offered traditional farmhouse B&B for nearly 30 years, alongside our working arable farm. The family has lived and worked at Manor Farm since 1885. The farmhouse dates from the 17th century, and during the last 300 years each generation has made its mark with additions and alterations. The original timber framed building was extended in the 18th century and the front was refaced in the 19th century. The farmhouse is Grade II listed which means it is "of significant historical importance to the nation". The farmhouse displays two very different building styles - 17th century with its timber framing, low ceilings and cosy rooms, and 18th / 19th century with much larger rooms, high ceilings and big windows. The two styles sit comfortably together, and we are fortunate in being able to offer several very different types of room to our B&B guests. Manor Farm is a family farm of just over 500 acres. It has been farmed by the May family since 1885, and comprises an undulating block of ancient chalk downland lying between the 500' and 600' contours. It has some of the highest land in the area, and consequently the views over the surrounding countryside are spectacular. The small village of Collingbourne Kingston is nestled in the beautiful valley of the River Bourne, and is surrounded by the "big skies" and rolling chalk downland for which Wiltshire is famous. We are within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which stretches away to the north and east, and adjoins the vast wilderness of Salisbury Plain immediately west of the farm. Our village and those nearby have many pretty thatched cottages, ancient churches and popular country pubs. The River Bourne is a "winterbourne" (flowing from autumn through to spring) and flows south to become a tributary of the River Avon at Salisbury. The River Avon joins the sea at Christchurch, Dorset. The valley of the River Bourne lies just south of the beautiful Vale of Pewsey, which divides the extensive upland areas of the Marlborough Downs to the north, and SalisburyPlain to the south. The recently restored Kennet and Avon Canal passes through the Vale of Pewsey. The village falls within "Kennet District" which is officially described as "mainly rural and agricultural in character and includes some of the finest landscape in southern England." About 66 per cent of the District is included within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a further 20 per cent is designated a Special Landscape Area.

  • Lovely spacious place. Huge bedroom, comfortable bed, great shower, no actual kitchen but several useful appliances such as coffee machine, microwave and toaster. Lounge area. Short walk to a nice pub with good food, and also to the canal. Tamsin gave clear directions and was super helpful answering questions beforehand.

  • Tammy's place is a lovely peaceful place to retreat to. There are plenty of walks locally and places to visit nearby of historical interest too. The only advice I would give, is open the door and have a towel to hand before you make toast as the fire alarm can be a bit sensitive. Nothing is too much trouble for Tammy, who is a great host.

    Diane2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • I loved Tamsin's place - she has decorated it with a lovely flair and a good eye for colour and comfort - it is so nice to have colour in a place. Tamsin was very welcoming and helpful - I immediately felt at home in the flat, especially with a vase of spring flowers in the sitting room and the bedroom and a dish of chocolate Easter eggs on the desk! Great Bedwyn itself has the quaintest post office in the country, The Three Tuns offers surprisingly good food ( Mushroom risotto, properly done, and rhubarb, pear and ginger crumble to die for), and the canal is a great place to walk the dog. All in all very much recommended.

  • Walkers Retreat is a very comfortable hideaway in a lovely secluded part of the country side. We had a great couple of days, walking from the front door and exploring locations nearby including Marlborough and Avebury. The accommodation is simple, well equipped and very nicely decorated. Tamsin made it very easy to get access and offered some good advice for places to eat locally. We never got to meet as we were out so much but her responses to any queries we had were very fast. Many thanks for a great stay!

    David2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay in this lovely annexe. The area is perfect for walking and the countryside is just beautiful. Tamsin was a great host and gave us lots of information before our stay.

  • Great location, cute decor, good place to chill

    Williams2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • A very tasteful little retreat in an unspoilt part of England. Very comfortable, very reasonably priced - a delightful experience.

    jenny2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Back again at Tamsin's lovely place, because I enjoyed it so much last time. A safe haven and cosy nest - I continue to recommend it and Great Bedwyn as a good base from which to explore the lovely surroundings - Pewsey Vale, Avebury, Marlborough and all the antique shops in Hungerford, quite apart from the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Welcome to our spacious village house decorated in a contemporary style. The bedroom overlooks the rear garden and has a comfortable, king-sized bed. Directly next to your bedroom is a private bathroom with a large, deep bath and overhead shower.
Our house is on a quiet street in Great Bedwyn. We have plenty of parking and a large kitchen that overlooks a lovely garden. There is no television in the bedroom, but we have a wide selection of lovely books and a good wifi connection. If you would like to watch TV, just ask - you are very welcome to use the living room which has big, squashy sofas, a wood burner and a large TV. You are also free to relax on the deck or in the garden. We also have a secure garage for storing bicycles if you have them and we are biker friendly. We have a big fluffy cat who may come and say hello to you.
Great Bedwyn is a pretty, rural Wiltshire village between Marlborough and Hungerford. Situated on the Kennet & Avon Canal, the village has a pub, The Three Tuns, which serves excellent food (we strongly recommend booking prior to arriving - please note it is closed on Sunday evening), a post office with bakery, a shop, church and a mainline railway station with lines running direct to Paddington and the West Country. There is a wonderful Michelin-starred restaurant a mile away, a fish and chip van on Tuesdays and many other excellent pubs and restaurants in the surrounding villages. We can book tables/taxis for you prior to arrival. The area itself is full of historical interest - just minutes from the house are the Grade I Listed Crofton Beam Engines, Wilton Windmill, a thatched 13th Century chapel, the K & A canal (you can see narrowboats from our garden) and Savernake Forest. The village and surrounding area is perfect for walkers, bikers and cyclists to explore, with National Cycle Routes running through the village. The closest towns are Marlborough (which hosts an internationally famous Jazz festival in the summer) and Hungerford, which are seven and five miles away respectively. Also within easy driving distance are the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Avebury and Stonehenge, Silbury Hill and West Kennet Long Barrow, Salisbury Plain, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey), the Caen Hill flight of 27 canal locks and Wadworth Brewery in Devizes, the Ridgeway and Uffington White Horse. This part of Wiltshire is also a hotbed of crop circles in summer! The cities of Salisbury and Bath are around an hour's drive away.
  • My stay at Kate's was great. The room was just what I needed for a short stay on business. Everything is as described, the room is comfortable and I was made to feel very welcome. I would definitely stay again! The surrounding area is beautiful and there is so much to see and do - Kate was great in helping me with walks.

  • We had a lovely stay at Kate and Dave's place in great bedwyn! They are super hosts!

  • Kate was a great hostess and made us so welcome - everything was clean, warm and tidy - all that a great B&B should be! The view from the back veranda over the canal was delightful. It is the perfect base for the Harrow restaurant in Little Bedwyn where we celebrated our anniversary. We would definitely book again. Neil and Liz

  • Kate and Dave were lovely hosts. We stayed a night before our barge trip. They have a beautiful home and it's only a short walk to the local gastro pub and village shop. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and a private bathroom with a great shower. I would definitely recommend to friends.

  • This place is outstanding. We have never been made to feel so welcome anywhere. Kate's home is immaculate. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and Kate went out of her way to arrange a taxi and to book a table for us. The local information in the room is well thought out and includes post codes for directions etc. Can't wait to stay there again

  • I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed our stay, the cottage is so homely and relaxing. Decor was amazing and the hot tub was divine. Seeing the fridge stocked was a lovely unexpected surprise, you have a local shop which is well stocked, a fantastic pub in walking distance (about 15 minute walk.) If your concerned about privacy don't be. Lorraine has provided us with a little gem of a place. I recommend 100%

  • Loved this place, it's a super-cosy and homely country bolt hole. Really well thought out by people who obviously care about their guests. Lots of lovely little touches and the courtyard garden is a pleasure to sit in. Barry and Lorraine were very friendly, couldn't have asked for anything more from our visit. It's in a picturesque village with two pubs in walking distance. We went to the Shears, nice walk down residential roads rather than the main street. Good food and wine, worth a visit. Thoroughly recommended for peaceful weekends with the other half (and your dog if you have one), we're already plotting to go back :-)

The Shears Inn is a 15 minute walk through the village and does good food and wine. Bath is a good 1 hour drive away but Stonehenge is only 30 minutes away. Thanks for everything Lorraine and the complementary food, would definitely stay again!!

It had everything we needed for a chilled few days away and the area had lots of welcoming local pubs and local nature walks and activities to do within walking distance. The hot tub was a welcome addition and the locally produced food left for us in the fridge was also lovely. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a few days away.

The property is only one mile from The Michelin Star Restaurant - The Harrow at Little Bedwyn. Lovely cycle routes and walking routes in the vicinity and minutes away from Kennet & Avon canal.
  • Just minutes from the Kennet and Avon canal this was a perfect place for our cycle ride along National route 4, and our host even let us use her garage to store bikes overnight. Caroline welcomed us on arrival and showed us around. The only Local pub serves great food, but it's certainly worth booking ahead as we did see groups waiting for tables. The studio itself was exactly as expected; big comfy bed; hot shower; and kitchenette with a fridge, toaster and kettle. Don't expect to be able to make a five course meal but useful for making tea and coffee!

  • The property is located in a quiet cul-de-sac close to the centre of Great Bedwyn, with excellent access to the railway station and its direct services to Reading and London. The property was spotless on arrival with candles and milk/juice in the fridge. Caroline was keen to share her knowledge of the area and was able to answer all of my questions. Given that I was staying for five nights, she was keen to ensure I was aware of local restaurants and pubs where I would be able to eat, and offered to provide a microwave should I need one. Overall this is an excellent property with a charming host, which I would thoroughly recommend. Adrian Kenilworth, Warwickshire

  • Great location close to the canal. An easy walk - 15 to 20 minutes along the canal to the Harrow and well placed for exploring North Wiltshire & West Berkshire. A comfy stay; the little kitchen area was perfect for breakfast, tea, coffee & toast. There is also a nice little bakery and good gastro pub - The Three Tuns in Great Bedwyn plus a railway station for travelling further afield if you want to leave the car behind. Caroline was very welcoming. We would stay again if we are in the area.

Great Bedwyn village is close to Marlborough, Hungerford, Savernake Forest & Kennet & Avon Canal. From our cottage’s comfortable en-suite ground-floor annex you can visit Avebury, other pre-historic sites, Crofton Beam engines and Wilton Windmill.
Our recently-converted ground-floor bedroom has an en-suite shower/toilet. The room has its own direct entrance so guests can come and go as they please. The bed can be double, twin or single (discounts offered for single occupancy or 3 night stays). Great Bedwyn lies within the North Wessex Downs, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, described on their website as 'a unique and spectacular landscape that includes tranquil open downland, ancient woodland and chalk streams in the centre of southern England'. The village has all the advantages of a traditional English village, plus a mainline railway station to London. The Three Tuns Pub is within walking distance and has an excellent restaurant, (Nov 2016 The Cross Keys is currently closed - awaiting new owners) a convenience store, a post-office selling freshly baked bread, cakes and filled rolls - don't miss Wiltshire's famous lardy cake!. Here you can also buy gifts, other essentials and pet supplies. There are plenty of other places to eat nearby too: pubs at Froxfield, Wilton and Shalbourne, a farm shop café near Hungerford, a café at Crofton (closed during the winter season), an Indian restaurant, an award winning restaurant at Little Bedwyn, and the visiting fish and chip van on Tuesdays! There are many wonderful walks in the surrounding area, around Savernake Forest and along the Kennet and Avon canal. Marlborough hosts many annual events including, in July, a popular Jazz Festival and Marlborough College Summer School. There is also an annual Literary Festival, Open Studio weekends and the October Mop Fair. The Wiltshire Cycleway passes through the village, along with Sustrans National cycle routes 4 & 403.
  • Judy and David are just lovely, perfect hosts! The room is comfortable with everything one needs for a stay in this pretty part of the world with lots of delightful little extras. Ideally suited for walks along the canal, dinner at a local pub and of course a treat at the Michelin Star restaurant The Harrow. Thank you for your warm hospitality, a comfortable stay and a lovely continental breakfast on top. Hopefully see you soon, Justina and Frances

  • Judy & Dave were absolutely fantastic, really welcoming with a wonderful house in a beautiful location and a great breakfast. The room was clean and tidy - even to my ODC clean partner - with a very well finished, modern en suite. The information and directions sent to me prior our stay were very clear and informative. Great hosts, great B&B - Highly recommended!

  • David in Judy's absence made us feel extremely welcome, with tea and Judy's banana cake, and helped us settle in after our long trip from Australia. Judy on returning home was equally welcoming. The area was a complete surprise to us as we had not expected this part of Wiltshire to be as pretty as it was. The bed was heaven as we had not slept for a couple of days and the garden was a pleasure to wake up to. Thank you Judy and David for looking after us.

  • The room was beautiful and spotless. Judy was there to greet us. She showed us the room and its facilities then we had a lovely chat over tea and banana bread! We felt instantly at home. You will get a great nights sleep; barely any noise and the bed was super comfy. We were genuinely gutted we stayed only one night so we shall be visiting again!

  • Judy and Dave made us feel very welcome indeed. Judy sent very helpful e-mails before we arrived and was very flexible as we didn't know exactly when we would be arriving. When we got there she welcomed us with a cup of tea and gave us very useful information about the local area and walks and lent us a detailed map. She then went well beyond the call of duty and dropped us off in Malborough as we were without a car and the next bus was not for 2 hours.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay. Judy and Dave couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. The room was excellent and breakfast first class.

  • Our second stay with Judy & David, a delightful couple always who make you feel so welcome. Very comfortable accommodation, pretty garden with a nice patio to enjoy a morning coffee on. lovely village, England at its best. Already looking forward to our next visit. Nancy & Richard

  • On arrival, David and Judy immediately made us really welcome and at ease. After settling in, we were invited to take tea/coffee (accompanied by Judy's wonderful banana cake) on the terrace overlooking their impressive back garden. The accommodation was modern with high quality fixtures and fittings and was also immaculately presented. The accommodation was also comprehensively equipped with everything that a traveler could possibly need. Breakfast was impressive on each of the mornings we stayed. We took advice from David and Judy about local eateries in the area/village and also places to visit and were not disappointed. In support of this advice, we were also loaned maps and guides which proved very useful. In summary, David and Judy couldn't do enough for us and we couldn't ask for anything more. Would definitely recommend this Airbnb and would definitely stay again when in the area.

  • We had a fantastic time staying in Southcott Cottage. Rebecca was a dream as a host, really friendly in all our interactions but generally leaving us to ourselves. Their two black labradors didn't get the memo about not interrupting breakfast, but as they were so docile, beautiful and quiet we really didn't mind their company a bit. Features we particularly enjoyed included the morning sun in the living space, the well-equipped kitchen and the outdoor fire pit for taking in the night air and having serious discussions around. We didn't get round to watching any as the weather was so good, but there were loads of DVDs to keep you entertained on a rainy day. Absolutely no complaints about this fabulous holiday property - if you're a group of friends, go for it and you won't regret it.

  • Fantastic cottage, stunning grounds and open plan kitchen with views to die for. Rebecca was a wonderful host with everything we could want provided for. A real gem of a long weekend retreat.

  • The cottage at Pewsey is great and just as described on the webiste. We enjoyed a lovely weekend there with our large family and the weather was wonderful (until Monday morning when we were leaving in torrential rain!). There are fantastic walks nearby with great views of the vale. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Seven of us stayed at the cottage for three nights in February 2015; it was perfect. Spacious, thoughtfully furnished, light and bright, we all loved it. Rebecca was extremely helpful and accommodating, and made us feel very welcome. We had beautiful weather, so opened the glass doors of the sun room, which is a lovely space. The beds are all very comfortable, with good bedding, bathrooms excellent. Having plenty of space for coats/shoes et al was much appreciated. And the views are glorious! It would be a pleasure to return.

    Jennifer2015-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous house to get our family together for a long weekend, and because it was a somewhat rain drenched time, the spacious home was absolutely wonderful for us all to spend the time together! Many many thanks Rebecca!

    Juliet2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A group of us stayed for Easter weekend. Rebecca was a lovely host, she popped in to make sure we knew how to use the heating and even started a cosy fire for us! (We're from London) The welcome pack of bread, jam, butter and milk was really useful. The house is beautifully maintained, the pictures on the airbnb website don't do the house justice. Rebecca had provided freshly washed sheets and towels and the whole house was very clean. The house is close to two local pubs in which everyone was really friendly. We had lunch in a pub called the Red Lion in east chisenbury, food and service was amazing. This house is perfect for a relaxing break with friends or family. We had one day of rain, but it didn't bother us because there were plenty of DVDs and books to keep us occupied. We would definitely like to return for a longer stay.

    Outstanding cottage in Pewsey

The studio is tucked away behind our house in a private wooded garden. It is warm and cosy and we have made it super comfortable with everything you need for a romantic get away or relaxing quiet time. Even though we are in the middle of a big village you can get straight out into the countryside from the door and you have your own magical wooded path that leads to your door. There is a table tennis and BBQ for your use and your own part of the garden with outside table and chairs. The kitchen has basic appliances and is not really set up for major cooking but there is an electric hob and an oven/microwave for preparing simple meals. There are two reasonably priced restaurants nearby, an excellent Indian and a great cafe on the canal. If you want more choice Marlborough is 7 miles away and stuffed with restaurants including Rick Steines. There is a bus service that will get you to Stonehenge and Avebury, Silbury Hill and Kennet Longbarrow and also Salisbury and Marlborough so we are perfectly situated if you do not drive or have a vehicle. We are professional artist and work from home so we are mostly around if you need us but if you don't you won't see us. You will see the chocolate boys,Twix and Wispa, two friendly jack Russell who will like to meet you.
  • Lucy is the perfect host. She was there to greet me on arrival and made me very welcome. The check-in and checkout process was effortless. The studio flat is beautiful with windows looking straight out onto the garden.all amenities have been thought of, including at well-stocked private kitchen. The property is only a very short walk from the centre of the beautiful village of Pewsey. Highly recommended

  • This is a delightful little garden hideaway. It has been very well equipped and is very comfortable. The space is small but it has everything you could need, and Lucy could not have been more helpful. It is close to the station but very quiet and secluded and I hope I will have the opportunity to visit again.

    Bridget2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy was a great host, welcoming and left some lovely food: the apartment was very homely and comfortable. Bed was awkward for two adults, but there is also a sofa bed if needed.

  • This is a lovely place to stay- an excellently designed self-contained living unit, with huge windows onto a fantastic garden. It's elegant, cosy and the host, Lucy has really thought of everything. She's an artist and keen gardener so there's a lot of aesthetic interest around the place. The location is great if you want to see Avebury and the other ancient monuments, or go for nature walks in the hills and nearby wetlands. There is a good Indian restaurant in the village and the 'Ale shed' does a great range of local microbrewed beer/ciders. A large coop supermarket also v close if you want to self cater, and the kitchen is very well equipped. Lucy is a great host, and kindly left a little supply of useful things like butter and milk and bread etc. for when you arrive. The local Heritage Centre in the village is really worth a visit- Pewsey has a fascinating history.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Lucy's place. It' a beautiful sanctuary lovingly created by the owner. It's not spacious but cozy and is equipped with everything you need. The place also comes with a lovely garden with a table and chairs, where we enjoyed eating our meals and hanging out as the weather was really nice during our stay. Lucy is a wonderful hostess -- she was always ready to make our stay comfortable, giving us helpful advice and suggestions for places to visit and where to eat out, even kindly providing us with things like fresh eggs, milk, bread, all kinds of preserves and more. We look forward to visiting again.

  • We enjoyed a lovely long weekend with our two young dogs. Lucy was a welcoming host and gave suggestions for things to do in the area. We found plenty of local walks, with great scenery and the bonus of pubs along the way! The studio was just the right size for the two of us, with everything that we needed as well as having great art on display. Lucy kindly provided a welcome hamper and use of a bbq. Our dogs also enjoyed playing with Twix and Wispa :) Would recommend this to anyone considering a visit.

  • The location and ambiance of this flat is perfect if you are looking for a England countryside experience. In addition, it is close to several sites if your desire is to see them. We went the Stonehenge, about thirty minutes away. The flat is well equipped for lounging around and/or day trips. If the flat would have been available an additional night or two, we would have stayed longer to enjoy Pewsley and the surrounding communities.

  • We had the privilege of being the first guests at this fantastic new property. Barbara and Maggy made us very welcome when we arrived. They showed us around and explained how everything worked. They have furnished the Byre to a very high standard and made clever use of the space. The accommodation is luxurious and you have everything you need. The decoration is bright and warm and the combination of the wooden floors and red sofas in the living areas is lovely. Barbara and Maggy have obviously put a lot of time and effort in to planning and decorating and they have created a fabulous place to stay. We were here to visit family in the village over the New Year period and it made a perfect base. Pewsey is a great little village and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area. I imagine that the Byre will become very popular as holiday accommodation. We will certainly be back!

    Wendy2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Byre was absolutely stunning and just what we needed to end our wonderful trip to Great Britain. Barbara was a wonderful hostess providing us with tour books for some of the sites we wanted to see, suggesting wonderful places to eat (Tail of Spice was excellent), shops (Miss Lemon's) and pubs (The Crown). The lovely two bedroom apartment was spotless and extremely well situated for touring the Cotswolds, Marlborough, Stonehenge and Oxford. Pewsey is a wonderfully sleepy little hamlet where everyone knows your name (the owner of The Crown and the owner of Miss Lemon's met me at the bakery towards the end of our stay and it was like I had known them forever). The lovely town made my husband and I feel like we were a part of the community. The apartment itself has all of the amenities from a lovely little kitchen to a modern bathroom. It is big enough for 4 people and I would not hestitate to stay there again and would certainly recommend it to all of my friends and family. You could not ask for a more beautiful setting or a more gracious host. I would rank this a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10.

  • A really great place. We fell in love with The Brye. Even if it's small, it is very functionnal. It is also comfortable, clean and everything is new. It's located in a small village, so shops, supermakets and more are walking distance. Thank you Maggy, Barbara and Bob for making us welcomed at The Brye.

All but two of the bedrooms can be made up as either double or twin rooms and two of the bedrooms can easily accommodate additional beds if required. Outside is a terraced garden with large dining table and chairs and parking for 4 cars. The house has wifi, hi-fi and Sky TV's.
Pewsey is a traditional working village with a number of pubs, a co-op, fishmonger, excellent Indian restaurant, cafe and plenty of walks out into the countryside from the house. The market town of Marlborough is 10 minutes away and Salisbury, Bath and Cheltenham are all within an hours drive. Stonehenge and Avebury Circle are around 25 minutes away,
  • Sean's place is simply stunning, it really is as beautiful as the pictures. The house has a real quality feel that made it perfect for our family get together celebrating my Dads 70th birthday. All the bedrooms are very well presented and the family space is ideal for large groups to enjoy themselves together. As well as the large dining table the kitchen/family room and separate sitting room (with huge TV, great for early morning Grand Prix viewing!) mean there is space for everyone to enjoy themselves without feeling cramped. Pewsey was the perfect location for us and there is plenty to see and do nearby - a long walk and pub visit was our choice this time. Sean was the most fantastic host, everything from the slick pre-visit communication, (a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) form made confirming bedroom set up easy), to the welcome hamper and house manual including information on the locality, made the preparation for a large family gathering straightforward. Sean was even on hand when I got stuck with a technical wifi/airplay query, responding by txt immediately. Great communications really make the Airbnb experience in my opinion. We didn't meet Sean but we hope to stay again in this beautiful house so maybe next time... Don't wait, book now!

  • We had a fantastic long weekend at Sean’s house. The house was perfect for hosting my Dad’s 65th birthday. The rooms were fantastic with a great social living area but also ample space to spread out and relax if you needed to get away from the crowd. The house is a wonderful base for exploring the surrounding area with easy access to Marlborough and Avebury to name a few sights. All in all a wonderful two nights away!

  • We were looking for a bit of a home from home to have a peaceful few days break and this is exactly what we found at Clench Common. The cottage is immaculately kept, spacious, conformed and had absolutely everything we needed for our stay... and Alpacas; what more could you want. We enjoyed our time so much that we've now visited 3 times over the past few months. Nikki has been an fantastic host on each occaision; extremely welcoming, very accommodating and attentive whenever anything was needed. Otherwise we were very much left to our own devices, which is exactly what we were looking for. I'd highly recommend a stay here to anyone and we will no doubt head back again.

  • Nikki' cottage is a lovely place to stay for a break away from it all. It felt lovely and spacious, very clean and cosy. Log fire was great to sit around in the evening. Would recommend

  • Nikki was extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The cottage is well appointed and the grounds are beautiful. Our dog particularly enjoyed exploring the grounds! We are hoping to stay again in the Summer!

  • Dear Nikki, Thank you for your hospitality. It was great to stay at the beautiful cottage in your garden. Our border collie had the time of her life in the spacious garden. You were very helpful. The house was very good, clean and with everything you could need. We even got a welcome pack with a drink and a biscuit. We would recommend this cottage to our friends.

  • The cottage completely exceeded our expectations. it was very spacious and clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable. All 3 bedrooms were a good size - even the room with the bunk beds in - which i can confirm are suitable for adults. Lovely touch of a bottle of fizz and nice biscuits on arrival which went down a treat. 10 minutes at most from Marlborough which is a lovely market town with a Waitrose if you need to stock up on supplies. Nikki was such a lovely host - welcoming us on arrival and checking in a couple of times over the weekend to make sure we were ok. The alpacas in the garden made for an unusual but amusing view out of the windows! We shall return!

  • What a perfect cottage, in a great location. Very comfortable, warm and private. We had a lovely time staying here. I hope we'll be able to return again soon. Thanks to Nikki for having us!

  • A true farmhouse on beautiful grounds, my children particularly enjoyed watching the alpacas, hare and birds. The house is well-proportioned, beautiful and comfortable. Nikki greeted us upon arrival, was always there, super helpful when we needed something extra and the children adore her! Definitely recommend.

  • Ons verblijf in Duck Cottage was uitstekend!

    Nick2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing cottage!!! This is a gem of a find! It's everything it looks like in the pictures and more!! The pub near by is also an excellent and friendly place to go. Would highly recommend to all.

    Chantal2017-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Tors for a lovely stay, we had a great time and felt relaxed and at home as soon as we arrived. The breakfast supplies were a lovely gesture. We enjoyed seeing and feeding your animals - they were really cute! There were plenty of areas to walk and admire the landscape. All the walks were close by and easily accessible. We found the map of North Wessex Downs inside the box really useful and were able to visit the majority of places within the weekend. We loved Savernake Forest and would recommend parking at Poston Hill Picnic Site. Thanks again Tors and we look forward to coming back soon! :)

  • This is the absolute quintessential rural English experience. Beautiful, quiet and cosy cottage. If it wasn't for the great food on your doorstop in every direction, you may decide to spend all your weekend in this gorgeous home. It's the perfect country getaway from London. Tors has designed a lovely space you'll love as much as the fantastic walking paths around the cottage.

    Alex2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in this beautiful cottage in the countryside. The cottage itself is amazingly decorated and feels just right to let you immerse yourself in that countryside life you might imagine. The grounds give lovely views and the animals top it all off. We loved being greeted by the horse, pigs and chickens running over to us to say (URL HIDDEN) definitely wasn't just them wanting food. Tors was a great host and provided everything you could need in terms of guidance and some lovely breakfast bits. We went on a nice long walk in Avebury around the neolithic sites and also visited Marlborough and Hungerford. All in all a lovely couple of days spent at the cottage and would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to go and relax in the countryside. It's only a bit over an hour outside of London too so no excuses to not have a break from the city.

    Tom2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we needed! Such a beautiful little cottage and they supplied stuff for our breakfast as well which was kind. We cooked both dinners there and enjoyed being in the cottage. There are lots of charming villages nearby to go to if you don't want to cook. Marlborough is really close too. Thanks for an awesome stay.

    Catherine2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • What an awesome place! 2 night weekend break away from it all, however close to local towns and villages for an explore! The cottage is beautiful, spotlessly clean and has everything you will need. Breakfast items left were great quality and like the entire experience, simply superb. The surrounding area is stunning. Tors was kind enough to allow us extra time on the Sunday morning to leave at leisure which was most welcome! We will definitely be back!

    Michael2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Duck Cottage is a gem! You're in the heart of the countryside but handily you're not too far from the M4, so it's the ideal accessible spot for a rural getaway. The cottage itself is even lovelier than the pics suggest! We arrived to the lamps lit, Classic FM playing softly on the radio and pain au chocolates waiting to be scoffed with a cuppa. That set the scene for the rest of the weekend - perfect! We can't wait to return. Thanks very much Tors.

Idyllic 200 year old thatched cottage set in the Wiltshire Downs in the village of Oare between Marlborough and Pewsey. Has garden and surrounded by open countryside. Ideal for a romantic break for two. Relax in front of a roaring open fire. Parking at back of cottage.
200 year old thatched cottage with real fire set within the open countryside, surrounded by fields with a large garden. The cottage is in an ideal area for cycling and walking; the Kennet and Avon Canal is within walking distance, as well as a range of country pubs offering home-cooked food. Historic market town Marlborough is a ten minute drive away offering a twice weekly market, boutique shops and a wide selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs. The large village of Pewsey also offers shops, pubs and cafes. The ancient World Heritage site of Avebury, the largest stone circle in Europe, is just a ten minute drive away with Stonehenge just a 30 minute drive away. The beautiful city of Bath is also just an hour's drive away. The mainline station of Pewsey is only five minutes away by car, one hour by train from London Paddington and on the mainline to Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance. Regular bus service from outside the house to Pewsey, Marlborough, Swindon and Salisbury. The cottage is ideal for a couple or solo traveller as it has one main double bedroom. The cottage does have a single bed in an adjacent room but please note you walk through one room to get to the other.
Beautiful countryside and proximity to two local towns when required. Canalside pub with excellent food within 10-15 minute stroll.
  • Francis' lovely thatched cottage was ideally located for visiting the many historical sites nearby such as Avebury Henge and Stonehenge. His directions to the house were easy to follow. The cottage itself was one of several attached units in the compound but still quiet, with friendly neighbours, including Francis himself who is right next door which would be helpful in case we needed any assistance with anything. We didn't after he explained the functioning of the appliances and showed us how to work the wood stove in the awesome old fireplace. It was cool enough in the evenings to need it. The bedroom upstairs was cooler but very comfy and warm to sleep in with the lovely warm comforter. All in all a delightful cottage, with lots of character and space and with the right mix of historic and modern elements. Would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

  • The cottage is absolutely charming with beautifully shaped traditional ceilings in the bedrooms, I particularly liked that there was a door to the garden directly from the living room so it is possible to have it open and have lots of light and sunshine inside and out. Francis was kind and accommodating and did his best to help us. The area is beautiful - I love the Pewsey Downs.

  • Francis was a great host, and happy to answer any question before and once having arrived. The cottage is lovely, well kept and set in beautiful surroundings. I'd definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet, remote location in the countryside.

  • A wonderful weekend in a lovely cottage. With all the mod-cons we felt really at home. Francis was a great host and I would definitely recommend a stay here. The local town was lovely, too.

  • All was just lovely. It was the second time we went, and this time with our dogs! Francis was amazingly accommodating, relaxed and helpful He even took our dogs for a walk , for us to visit Bath! Thank you Francis!

  • We had a hugely relaxing weekend in this charming cottage. Gorgeous setting, cosy inside, comfy bed, well equipped kitchen. Francis was on hand to show us round when we arrived. Loads of firewood and a big open fire. We went walking in the fields nearby amid the bluebells. It was relaxing and peaceful - perfect for a break.
