If you are tired, and you don't want to do either 100 meters, down the building there is a restaurant. the food is acceptable considering the fact they are Egyptian and are proposing classic Italian dishes (mostly from the south of Italy). in the past it was managed by Italians but during the last 10 years has been managed by them. pizza is ok but doesn't expect anything special. owners are kind and prices are reasonable.

District, district and again District

The area of Milan north of piazzale Loreto, which develops along viale Monza and via Padova, has historically been populated following the demographic development of the city, to satisfy the hunger for accommodation due to the migratory waves of those looking for work.[2] Man as Milan expanded its borders, the building and residential areas increased on the north axis. A peripheral area, just outside the external ring road of Milan, in the post-war period it developed demographically by hosting workers from all over Italy and subsequently, with the migratory flows of the 21st century, numerous multi-ethnic communities especially in via Padova, which was transformed in the 2000s in an area at risk of security,[3] as well as a meeting place and cooperation between Italians and foreigners.[4] The area between piazzale Loreto and the railway, unlike other districts identified with a name, such as Turro, Gorla and Casoretto, although developing homogeneously, has never had a real name, subsequently identified as the Pasteur area or Rovereto area (from the Milan underground stops). In 2012 the name NoLo ("North of Loreto") was invented by architects Francesco Cavalli, Luisa Milani and Walter Molteni, as they joked about the possibility of creating a neighborhood brand, along the lines of SoHo or Tribeca.[5] The toponym was approved on 14 October 2019 by the PGT (Milan Regional Government Plan 2030) of the Municipality of Milan, which officially recognized the Nolo district.[1]

Origin of the name The area follows the name of via Brera. The name Brera derives from braids: uncultivated land, vegetable garden. From this word also derives braidense, associated with the library of the same name. The artists who since the 19th century have gravitated around the Academy of Fine Arts have transformed the neighborhood into one of the most characteristics of Milan. Composition Once the main access from outside the city to Brera was the Pusterla Beatrice, which was located at the end of the current via Brera, practically on via Pontaccio. The area is ideally delimited via Pontaccio, Fatebenefratelli, Via dei Giardini, Monte di Pietà, Ponte Vetero, and Mercato. Everything that falls within this area (including the streets just mentioned) is part of the Brera district. The most important streets are obviously via Brera (with its Pinacoteca di Brera, the Academy of Fine Arts, and the Braidense national library, as well as the modern art gallery Il Castello), via Fiori Chiari, Fiori Oscuri, San Carpoforo, via Madonnina, via del Carmine, via Ciovasso, and Ciovassino. Brera in the imagination A description of neighborhood life in the 1950s was given by Luciano Bianciardi in the first chapters of his novel "La vita agra"; Between 1997 and 2002, a color magazine dedicated to the neighborhood was published, "Brera"[1], directed by Paolo Brera, with collaborations from Guido Vergani, Carlo Castellaneta, Giuseppe Pontiggia, Rossana Bossaglia, Vittoria Palazzo and others. Places and events of interest The characteristic alleys of Brera in 1955 A glimpse of the neighborhood in 2019 Palazzo di Brera, first a fourteenth-century convent belonging to the Umiliati and which was located on the edge of the city area (hence the noun braida, i.e. uncultivated) and later to the Jesuits, was transformed in the seventeenth century by the architect Francesco Maria Richini. Giuseppe Piermarini also had a role in the work, he took care of, among other things, the entrance portal via Brera and the courtyard. In 1773 it became the property of the Austrian state, which disposes of its use for cultural institutes: the Academy of Fine Arts and the Braidense National Library. In 1859 a bronze statue of Napoleon was placed in the courtyard The market held every third Sunday of the month via Fiori Chiari Bar Jamaica, opened in 1911, a historic venue where intellectuals and writers used to meet in the 1950s and 1960s
