If you like German food, this is the place to go. If you don't like German food, this is still the place to go. Very meat and potatoes type place with a great beer selection. Kids can be loud.

I don't know what they do to the crust here, but it is among our favorites anywhere. They also have a salad bar and good prices. Very family friendly and a local institution.

Heavenly is closer and has spectacular views, but Kirkwood is less crowded, has shorter lines and usually better snow. Our favorite resort.
