Visit the Reykjavik botanical gardens and/or Húsdýragarðurinn (www.mu.is), a little zoo/park for the families. Inside the botanic garden there is this wonderful little café in a green house with where you can have great food. I love the brunch there in the weekends! www.floran.is

Take a look at Reykjavík City Library website, www.borgarbokasafn.is. Gerduberg is one of six Culture Houses run by the City Library. There are sometimes great exhbitions, concerts and more. There is a cozy library and a café as well.
