You can take the ferry from Mackinac City to the island. (It takes approximately 16-26 minutes.)
The hotel offers afternoon tea (make sure to call ahead for reservations) and a beautiful front porch that is the longest in the world. (They charge a minimal fee to sit on the porch.)
