This lovely market is open on saturdays 10am-6pm and offers a great selection of local culinary delights including vegan food as well as handmade art, jewellery and crafts.

This is a lovely space for a quiet browse amongst the many bookshelves. They have a wonderful selection of books available and very knowledgeable staff. Book ordering service is also available.

Galway has an amazing array of great restaurants & cafes as well as great takeaways and supermarkets. Here are just some of my favourites. Note: reservations may be necessary for some particularly during summer.

An absolutely charming & cosy cafe with a huge selection of herbal, green and black teas as well as coffees and delicious vegan treats. You can choose from regular seating or cushion seating on the floor. They have artworks exhibited and also have locally made candles and lovely pottery for sale. Another bonus is that they also have a lovely outdoor seating area at the back which is a bright sunny spot in warm weather. Also open later into the evening and has live music sometimes so nice alternative to a pub. This is one of my favourite cafes in the city!

America Village Apothecary make unique syrups, Tinctures and Bitters for creating craft beverages or for use with food using locally foraged flavours and carefully sourced ingredients. You can purchase the products as well as sample some delicious drinks. It's a really lovely venue and their tonic syrup is so good mixed with gin. Their turmeric tonic is also really good. People have been gathering seafood and fishing from the area for millennia. It is one of the oldest former fishing villages in Ireland - its existence having been recorded since the arrival of Christianity in the 5th century.
