Michelin starred restaurant near the harbour. A treat! Simon Hulstone, the chef and proprietor, uses fresh ingredients from his own Devon farm and the food is top class at a reasonable price considering the Michelin star. Located in a beautiful building the decor is casual but sophisticated with great service and some harbour views. We love coming here for lunch or an evening meal.

Our local pub in a Lutyens designed thatched house in Cockington. Good selection of ales and plenty of outside seating. You can walk down our road, turn left down the narrow lane and then join the boardwalk down the water meadows to take you into Cockington. Alternatively there are walks from the top of the estate down Manscombe woods into Cockington and to the pub. A nice place for an evening drink in the sun.

Agatha Christie's holiday home which is now a National Trust property. The house sits high above the river Dart with a beautiful surrounding garden. Non car access is encouraged and use of the car park is for booked guests only. Arrive by ferry from Dartmouth for the most scenic views. We love love walking through the garden down to the boathouse followed by a cup of tea and cake in the café.

This Arts and Craft country retreat of the D'Oyle Carte family gives an insight into the jazz age of the 1920. The house complete with art deco furnishings is a beautiful example of the era and the luxuriant 24-acre garden with its micro climate is home to many tender exotic plants. Walk all the way down to the coast path and beyond where you can glimpse the (now closed) private beach with natural swimming pool below.

Picturesque cove down a steep walk. Small rocky beach and cafe which hires out deck chairs too. Adjacent to Redgate beach which is closed due to Rockfalls. Kayak and SUP hire, also popular with local coasteering groups. We often go here for our early morning swims to watch the sun rise in this east facing cove.

Pretty setting but no sandy beach. Cary Arms gastropub with spectacular views over Lyme bay. Nice short flat walk along the beach/boardwalk to the adjacent Oddicombe beach from where you can take the funicular railway back up to the Babbacombe Downs. During high season you may want to park near the Downs (at the top) as there is only limited parking at Babbacombe beach and the drive down is extremely narrow and steep. Sammy the seal is often about and we have spotted dolphins here too.
