Sightseeing

The ancient Walls are so close to my house and are easily accessible. They are about a mile in circumference and you can walk around them. The views of the city are spectacular. There are many places worth seeing such as St. Augustine's church, St. Columbs Cathedral, the tower museum, and the guildhall to name a few.

Take a relaxing stroll along the Foyle River. Here you will find lots of places to eat and little cafes and a couple of small Marinas. This area is especially good to come to during the clipper festival which sometimes comes to the city and will be here in 2020.

Modern Church Scene

There are many up and coming modern churches in Derry, such as the one I go to in Irish Street - River City, then there is the Vineyard Church, LTC and Derry Donegal. All great modern churches worth a visit. Probably the best of the lot for first timers in my opinion would be Cornerstone.
Why not visit Cornerstone City Church based in the Channel 9 Building on the other side of the Craigavon Bridge on Duke Street. A very good place to meet with people for coffee and worship in a relaxed atmosphere.

Museum

There are a very few art museums, the only one I know of seemingly CCA at the moment. Derry is a historical city, so there are a few museums focusing on that rich history. But you will also see this history shown in St. Columns Cathedral and places like St Augustines church on the walls.
If you want to find out a bit more on the history of Derry this is the place to get you up to speed. By far the best museum in Derry and equally balanced in regards to Irish Nationalism and British Unionism.

An interesting museum focused mainly on the Siege of Derry. Only go if you wander past or to add to the Tower museum experience.

The Craft Village

The Craft village is in the city centre hidden away. You can access it if you go through the tower museum or there is an entrance opposite Nando's on Shipquay St.

What's the craic?

Craic, not to be confused with crack. When we ask you this we mean tell me something great that happened to you today. Craic is the Irish word for fun, excitement and general Tom foolery.
