In Galle, you can mostly get around by public buses. All most all destinations are connected with private and public buses that start from Galle Central Bus station. There are high-way (E1 - Southern Express Way) busses connecting to Kandy and Colombo (various spots). Galle railway station is located just next to the central bus station and can easily transfer. There are trains to various cities around the country from Galle. Mirrissa, Unawatuna, Tangalle is just away from one bus!

In Galle, many sights are free, except museums and some selected locations. Living is not expensive compared to most of the other counties. Try to buy fruits based on seasonality as the prices vary with season, high during the off-season. Use public transport and tuk-tuk if needed. Ask locals for the support! Since there are no handrails of the staircase to water, we do not recommend to accommodate kids below 5 years unattended. If your kid/children behave accordingly, there is no problem with being in Olu Villa.
