The Coastguard house Restaurant established itself in the 1940s and is revered for serving locally harvested seafood. It is right next to the Narragansett Towers which are a historical landmark.

If you are looking to explore local history, the Newport Mansions have amazing tours. Become a member with a family pass and tour a mansion a day or get through as much as you can in one day. They are rich in history, architecture and views. If you are only able to visit one mansion, my recommendation is The Breakers Mansion. It’s about a 25 minute drive from the home depending on traffic.
