You can't go wrong by taking a stroll over to the Hudson River. Hudson River Park stretches for miles, but the area around 23rd Street near Chelsea Piers is particularly enjoyable!

Washington Square Park is my favorite New York City park. There is just always so much going on there. Diverse crowds, live music, chess hustling, you name it. Lots of history here as well. Check it out if you have time.
