Denver has a good public transportation system, and for a single traveler, it is almost always the cheapest way to get around. If you’re traveling with a friend or in a group, Uber is often just as cheap and more convenient for short distances. Google Maps works well for public transportation schedules and routes. Buses accept cash at the door, but for trains, you’ll want the RTD Tickets app (which works for buses as well). Denver does not require a ticket to board trains, but while on-board your ticket may be checked.

You can walk or take a short Uber to city park, which is a huge space that also is home to the Denver Zoo. Great place nearby to kill a couple hours when the weather is nice!

RiNo, as it's called by the locals, is a relatively new and upcoming area with a thriving restaurant and bar scene to compliment the scrappy and artistic startups that have taken over this warehouse district. It's only about a mile away, and reachable by bus or a short Uber.
