O Alagar is our closest restaurante only a 5 min walk away. Luis, the owner is a superb chef. The food is excellent offered with a little more flair than many local eateries. You can download the Fork app and receive discounts! The cafe next door is also a lovely spot to enjoy the afternoon sun.

A banda is a favorite regular eating place for us. Sofia serves great local dish of the day and also has a full menu available. The prices are extremely good and a great service

Sightseeing
The ruins of this important castle lay a short distance from the the village and are interesting to wander around the grounds and appreciate the spectacular views. Its said that Paderne castle is one of the castles displayed on the Portuguese flag, which signifies the importance of this landmark. The castle is open on Wednesdays & Fridays on 1st & 3rd week of the month. 9.30 till 1pm

Moinho do Leitao is a beautifully restored windmill an opportunity to see the Portuguese life. There are many items o display to peruse and also the curate is on hand to explain how the windmill would have worked.
Its also a very pleasant 3 mile (5 km) circular walk to the Windmill which takes you along many pretty lanes and offers amazing views.
