Ferry Services
There are many Ferrys that can take people and cars to the Outerbanks. Each Ferry is different and I will try and describe each one and what kind it is.
It a ferry 10 minutes away out of Davis, NC that can take you to a less traveled part of Cape Lookout National Seashore, the South Core Banks. This remote part of the island has camping cabins run by park service. It is more remote and is a great place to explore. The ferry is one of 3 that can bring your car (off road permit required) or you can go over and walk around. Bring water and food, and whatever you need for the day as there is no services once you are there. The ferry does have a store and tackle shop on the mainland which has tackle and other food items.

Reservations are highly recommended especially during March to November. Check times online as they can vary during the season. One waytime is 2.5 hours.

Some quiet sound side beaches are to the left of the ferry. Great beach for kids. Parking located across from motel parking lot, in front of Ferry entrance, access through the gate, picnic tables along the path.

Morris Marina Ferry has a small Ferry that takes you across to the southern end of North Core Banks. It's a remote section of the outer banks accessible only by boat. The marina also has a new restaurant with good seafood.
