The local main temple is one of the best spots to watch the sunset. Kasar Devi is said to be under the influence of the Van Allen Radiation Belt, having a powerful magnetic field, same as Machu Picchu and Stonehenge. Many famous figures like Cat Stevens, Timothy Leary, George Harrison, Robert Thurman among others came to visit. Kasar Devi was especially popular as a destination during the Hippie movement of the 1960s and 1970s (therefore the area is also called Hippie Hill or Crank's Ridge), and continues to attract trekkers and tourists, both domestic and foreign.

A group of over 100 Hindu temples dated between 7th and 12th century, located in a narrow forested valley of oaks, deodara, rhododendrons and pines. The Dhabas around the temple offer delicious local Kumaoni food.
