Lapis is a fantastic new restaurant walking distance from my apartment. It's a modern Afghan bistro with a small bar -- The decor is lovely - the space is super cozy and romantic. The food was outstanding, lots of great veggie options, and nice cocktails too! There is also a bar at the restaurant. I suggest making a reservation, as it's small and quite popular.

Just around the corner, grab lunch or coffee at this neighborhood bookstore cafe. The food is delicious, especially the soup of the day. Also a great spot to work on your laptop or read.
