Excellent breakfast and I'd say the best meal out in the surrounding area. One of the chefs, Zak, is representing Wales at the Culinary Olympics so it's a bit special.

The best fish and chips is their claim and I wouldn't disagree. Takeaway or eat in are available

Personal favourite for the ice-cream that's homemade and comes in generous portions. Also a good cawl and cafe food in general. Really friendly. Quite small so not the best for big groups, however.

Sightseeing

Great place for walking - they have a river trail and lovely woodlands as well as a house brimming with local history and a decent cafe to keep you going. If you come at the right time of year the Apple Festival is an unusual treat.

Neighbourhoods

A quiet Regency seaside town, Aberaeron really is a living postcard with its' brightly coloured harbourside houses (which Yr Harbwr is one of). It's quite a prosperous little town so the cafes, pubs and shops are more numerous, diverse and better quality than you might expect from a town with just 1,500 people. Obviously, it gets much more popular in summer as the harbour, beach and coastal walks bring in the holiday makers but it never gets overcrowded so it tends to be a favourite for those who prefer to explore and enjoy at their own pace.

Really popular beachside town with a glorious sandy beach, shallow water and the famous Cardigan bay dolphins! Get there early in the day during Summer as the most central parking fills up and the beaches get pretty packed. Absolutely one of my favourite places to spend a sunny day.

City/town information

A charming university town, Aberystwyth is known for the National Library of Wales, it's beach, and Constitution hill. A half an hour bus ride away from Aberaeron, it has all the large shops you could need, such as Morrisons, Tesco and M&S.
