Pitlochry is just a 20 minute drive, or can be reached by bus, train or bike (find the cycle paths), and is well worth the visit. The Dam, Pitlochry Festival theatre, Ben y Vrackie, golf course, shopping, putting, boating on Loch Faskally. Beautiful scenery.

Dunkeld is an easy walk along the riverside, across Telford's Dunkeld Bridge, and is studded with delightful artisan shops, bakeries, cafes, pubs, live music, a cathedral, parkland, a joy to spend time in.

Dunkeld is an easy walk along the riverside, across Telford's Dunkeld Bridge, and is studded with delightful artisan shops, bakeries, cafes, pubs, live music, a cathedral, parkland, a joy to spend time in.
Birnam is fab. There's an arts centre with cafe, Beatrix Potter exhibition centre and garden, art gallery, a secondhand bookshop (The Birnam Reader), a Post Office that serves as shop and cafe too (with local fruit and veg, locally made gifts). The Birnam Hotel serves great pizza. The ancient Birnam Oak, of Macbeth fame, and the riverside walks. So much to like about this great wee village.

A lovely way to spend the day if you like to walk or cycle, and enjoy beautiful scenery...the walk to Loch Ordie is fab, and ideal place to picnic and take a dip.

Rewarding views and a nice walk or mountain biking experience.
A very special place, a shortish walk, about 2 miles, but so rewarding, with tremendous views and poetry and sculpture along the way. Highly recommend.
