Sightseeing

If you didn’t drive this way stop to look at the gorge and fantastic colours of the water then Its really worth the trip. Every time I drive through I’m still amazed at the colours. From milky crushed rock to iridescent blues depend on weather and water conditions. Take care with the traffic and one lane bridge.

Maybe this one is stating the obvious. It’s worth the drive up the road in summer too for stunning views across the whole of the Canterbury Plains

Tempted to say it was even better than my rafting experiences in Austria. On second thoughts it was way better. Have a blast with the family or join a gang to head down the river with excellent raft guides and a whole lot of action. It’s about a 45 minute drive from your apartment.

Conseils aux voyageurs

Que faut-il apporter ?

Chilly of course

Bring your merino and puffer jacket, plus a hat and gloves too. Methven can be very chilly in winter but hey, what else would you expect for a ski town?
