Plenty of good eating, shopping and sightseeing around. We would recommend a walk up one of the many Mounts around Auckland i.e. Mt Eden, Mt Albert or One Tree Hill. Waiheke Island is a short ferry ride away and has amazing vineyards and scenery. There are many amazing beaches in the vicinity. It comes down to personal taste and more recommendations can be found online.

Train and bus is a cheap, easy way to get around
From ours there are several bus stops very close by which can take you in several different directions. The train station an approximately 4 min walk away can take you directly into the city for about $5.50 pp.
