While your there, be sure to have lunch at Snappy's on Main Street, the little diner featuredin the show, visit Floyd's Barber Shop and the old courthouse, also featured in the show, enjoy the Andy Griffith Museum, and take the tour in Andy Griffith's Police Car.

Shop the historic Main Street for Antiques, or get a real deal at the popular discount/closeout store, Matthew's Warehouse Deals, (Owned by the hosts of this resort), store is located across from CVS Pharmacy. Another place to visit is the 50 Mile New River Walking & Biking Trail that starts in Galax.

The highest Mountains in Virginia are approx 1.5 hours west, known for its famous wild horses, abundant wildlife, and scenic views. This park is definitely worth the drive, and be sure to take the hike on the Appalachian Trail, where you are almost guaranteed to see the wild horses.
