The mediaeval frescoes are simply magnificent and our friendly and thoroughly knowledgeable guide made for a wonderful experience. An exceptional example of Bulgarian Christian and royal architecture. A great place for both an educational tour and a picnic! You have only 10 minutes inside which might not be enough to enjoy the paintings. The area around the Church is really nice for walking/ picnic.

Choose from The Golden Bridges, Boyana Lake, Boyana Waterfall, or just choose a path that looks good, hit the trail and go with the flow. You can also reach the Simeonovo cabin lift to go higher in the mountain. It will take you to Aleko hut, which is also accessible by car.
