Without the Cathedral, Durham would not be the city it is today. Not only is it a sight to behold, the walk to and from the Cathedral via the fields through Old Durham make it a unique trip, and one to remember.

Seaham is a 15 or so minute drive from the house. It has two long pebble beaches north and south of the town centre. the south beach is quite cool as their is an old world war 2 pill box at the far end that is with having a look at.
