Malta's capital is just wonderful and mostly pedestrianized. It's recommended for it's historical sites but also for the amazing views and good restaurants.

Fabulous views of all Malta and some lovely historical buildings, and very pedestrian friendly. Mdina is one of the oldest inhabited sites on the island. a must see!

Gozo feels different from Malta. It is less busy and the pace of life is slower. The Citadel is worth a visit, as is the Southern coast where you can take a boat around the high cliffs. Some of the best diving spots are on Gozo. Don't miss it!

Beach
Golden Bay is larger, but Riviera Beach, 1 km away, is wilder and with better scenery. The restaurant near the beach is nice too.

We recommend taking a bus
If you are going to Sliema or even Valetta, the bus is your best bet. They are cheap and frequent, and you will avoid having to find parking. Just head down to Balutta Bay to catch one.
