This state park is just 20 minutes from the cottage and offers an expansive public beach area with picnic and grilling areas. There is a public pool (closed for COVID in 2021) that is located at the water's edge. Westmoreland is a great state park that is great for fossil hunting along the river.

Often overlooked, this interactive and informative park is the site of George Washington's birthplace. The visitor center and local grounds are worth the visit!
