Maryhill Museum will blow your mind. You think it won't have much to offer due to it's location, but you will be presently surprised. I am not a huge museum connoisseur and found myself absolutely amazed and wanting to go back.

5 minute drive from the house. Another kitesurfing location. It's also one of my favorite beaches. There is bathrooms and picnic tables. You will find beachy locations hidden if you walk east from the main entrance to the river.

12 minute drive, but absolutely worth it. Great for breakfast and lunch. Buy a loaf of mama lil's cheddar bread. It's a must.

Damn good beer and food. They don't take reservations, which means on weekends, you can expect a wait. I am a sucker for their passion fruit sour and peanut butter burger.

Lyle is a unique small town. It's a 20 minute drive to Hood River and 15 minute drive to White Salmon. You are close to the larger towns, but are able to enjoy the small town feel the Gorge still has to offer.
