While visiting take the time to travel to Bell Island. While there take the #2 mine tour. A guided tour of the Iron ore mine is amazing, you won't be disappointed.
Take a walk on the boardwalk and you just might have to stop and read all the painted boards. There is also a historic cemetery feom the 1600's and a root cellar built into the rock. We see whales there every time we go in the summer.

Self explanatory, however the crew is lighthearted, knowledgeable, and really quite comedic. There is also an opportunity to become an honorary "Newfoundlander" while on board.
