City/town information

The seaside town of Looe keeps visitors entertained all year round whilst still retaining a working fishing port. Stand on the quayside in the evening and watch the boats return before dining on fresh fish in a local restaurant. The town prides itself on it's fresh fish, and be it award winning fish and chips near the river or gourmet menus in smart restaurants overlooking the harbour, you know you won't be dissapointed. To work all that food off, Looe is a great place for walking. The South West Coast Path passes through the town, plus there are countless walks in the beautiful countryside, or along the two rivers that flow inland. For children, a safe sandy beach with rockpools beside it is all they need. Hours of free fun, and if they want to take after mummy and daddy and go fishing, then there's always crabbing from the quayside.

The Cornish south coast is scattered with colourful and traditional fishing villages, but you’d be hard-pressed to find one quite so iconic as beautiful Polperro. The old buildings provide a timeless charm while the protected harbour is a scenic setting for morning walks and evening dining. The entire Polperro Heritage Coast is named after this unassuming village, so you know it’s the heart of this region.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the town hangs off the west side of the Fowey estuary where the large, deep water harbour is a magnet for sailing fans. As you walk the ever narrowing streets of the old town where mediaeval and Georgian buildings cast shadows over each other, a vibrant maritime history comes to life. Lining the main Fore Street you will find many small, independent shops selling unusual gifts, artwork, clothing and books. If you’re a foodie then Fowey is home to many bistros, cafes and restaurants where you’ll find menus offering the best in local produce – Fowey River mussels are a highlight.

Located in the oft overlooked south-eastern extreme of Cornwall Kingsand is still something of an undiscovered gem. It has quaint, narrow, cottage-lined streets to rival the likes of Polperro and Port Isaac, whilst still retaining much of its unspoilt charm.
