City/town information

The historic town of Bakewell nestles in the hills of the Peak District National Park. A river runs through the centre of the town, and you will find the famous love locks bridge showcasing padlocks that lovers have attached to the bridge over the years to celebrate their love. Enjoy fish and chips by the river and watch the ducks floating by. Stroll around the park or walk by the river. There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants to choose from, plus a cheese shop showcasing locals cheeses. And of course, don't miss trying the famous Bakewell tarts and puddings (vegan options available). There's a lovely church and also a town museum where you can learn more about the history of the area. The town has a bustling market on a Monday.

Food scene

This is my favourite place for a spot of lunch or great coffee and cake. With plenty of vegetarian and vegan option, this Indian-inspired venue is friendly and fun.
