Neighbourhoods
Fort William is a town in the western Scottish Highlands, on the shores of Loch Linnhe. It’s known as a gateway to Ben Nevis, the U.K.’s highest peak, and Glen Nevis valley, home to Steall Falls. The nearby Nevis Range Mountain Resort has ski runs and forest trails. In the town centre, the West Highland Museum focused on regional life and history. To the northeast, Ben Nevis Distillery explores whisky production.

The Silver Sands of Morar are a stunning string of white sandy beaches on the banks of the River Moidart as it enters the Sounds of Arisaig. Unmissable when taking the scenic coast road from Morar to Arisaig, you're sure to be tempted to explore as the white sand creeps over the wee winding road. There is a small car park with toilet facilites on the B8008 just south of Morar, though many people simply pull up on the sides of the road to admire the beach and the views up the River Morar. The beach is best explored at low tide and extends for almost a mile to the north with interesting mature coastal heath vegetation

Situated around a mile from Spean Bridge, it overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle. Unveiled in 1952 by the Queen Mother, it is one of Scotland’s best-known monuments, both as a war memorial and as a tourist attraction offering views of Ben Nevis and Aonach Mòr.
