Seaside

Norwich is very close to the coast. The coast can be reached within 30 minutes and there is a real mixture of destinations to head for. Here we explore a few of the most popular destinations, along with some lesser well known ones.
30 min drive. This is a victorian seaside town of two halves: an Upper, and an Under-world. Simultaneously high- and low-brow. Its a love it or hate it kind of place! Our kids have loved it over the years, us adults not so much. Our kids love it for: - * Fish & chips * Arcades * Sandy Beach * Seals * Funfair

40 min drive. A more traditional seaside town. There are arcades but Cromer has retained its original charm. Great sandy beaches, museums, surfing, plenty of attractions and wonderful walking. Kids can go crabbing here (drop a line into the sea from the pier and catch the crabs - everyone is doing it!)

35 min drive. SSShhhh! Don't tell everyone about Mundesley, let's keep it between us. It's a little known and very pretty Victorian seaside village. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is a great starting point for country walks with plenty of footpaths, circular routes and walking trails.

15 min drive. Wroxham is a pretty town in The Norfolk Broads. Guests can hire a day boat from here and explore the broads - this is great fun! Well worth a visit at any time of the year, although the boating takes place in the summer months. There is plenty of parking available, especially in the winter.

40 min drive. Quite a small zoo but really well thought-out. Our favourite is the giraffe enclosure as visitors are able to view them from their head height! Animals from around the world.

60 min drive. Holkham Hall host many events throughout the year. The grounds are vast and incredible. There are often high-end art exhibitions both in the hall and in the grounds, as well as concerts. But there is much more to Holkham Hall... ...Think parkland alive with deer and mighty oaks, a walled garden bursting with blooms and heritage, a nature reserve thrumming with wildlife, farmland abundant in wildflowers and hedgerows, and an expansive beach backed by sand dunes and pine forests.
