An absolute essential during your stay in Gympie is to try out this gorgeous little cafe on the Southside - Exhibition Road. The food is next level and never disappoints and the coffee is beautiful.

Well worth the trip - and the train puffs past Laurelea by literally 80 metres away!

The Gympie Civic Centre is only a 2min drive or 11min walk from Laurelea. I certainly wouldn't recommend walking in heels however. Heads up, there is a steep hill or two between locations.

In 1867, James Nash discovered 72 ounces of Gold. This started the Gold Rush in Gympie and it became known as The Town that saved Queensland from Bankruptcy.

Rainbow Beach has fabulous beaches which are lovely and quiet. Famous for it's coloured sands and gateway to both Fraser Island to the North and Double Island Point to the South, it's also been put on the map by Chris Hemsworth purchasing a holiday house and visiting occasionally!
