This is on the beaten path and for good reason. Great food, great atmosphere, but be prepared for a wait if you go during peak hours on peak days for the city. This is by the White House so add it to your stop as you are touring the city.

Great spot to grab a bagel sandwich for breakfast. There are two locations; a closer one on H st. and one on 7th St in SE (Eastern Market see below). There isn’t a lot of room so we often just pick up when we feel the bagel craving and can’t find a spot to sit. So you might want to call ahead.

We stumbled across this as the Roost was overcrowded and were very happy it was. It felt a little more upscale but the food was definitely worth it.

This place is a local favorite with amazing cuisine and cocktails. Getting a table is a little difficult so if you can snag up a spot ahead time great! If not, we find it best to show up around 5pm when they open and we usual can get a seat.

Chinese hot pot place that is still under the radar!! We have not had a bad meal yet and the best Asian for larger groups (along with Makketo).
