Parks & Nature

The name says it all! It has world class views, but a little known fact is it’s actually named after Mr. D.L. Bliss. The park is named in honor of timber and railroad magnate Duane Leroy Bliss, whose heirs donated 744 acres (301 ha) of land to the state in 1929.[1] It has since grown to 2,149 acres

Everything Else

Truckee has everything and it’s historic. The train passes through here on it’s way from Chicago to Oakland. It even has it’s own lake, Donner. There are lots of great restaurants and shops and in the summer they have Truckee Thursday’s where they have a street fair everyThursday night. It’s great for all ages and all-times of year.
