Great selection, fabulous prepared food. You can walk from the apartment, take a taxi, or take the metro to U Street and walk down 14th. Lotsof great restaraunts in this neighborhood as well.

The Reynolds Center houses both the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. You HAVE to check out the covered courtyard; a perfect place to relax and work/have a snack.
The museum is beautiful and the sculpture garden is out of this world. A lovely fountain in the warm months, ice skating in the cold months!

The Shakespeare Theater has two locations, Harman Hall and the Landsburgh. They do great productions and often have same-day deals. Fabulous theater.

The best happy hour in town, hands down. Sit in the bar area and feast on all kinds of dim sum and mixed drinks. We usually get out of there spending $30 (4 drinks, 4 or 5 dim sum!)

A fantastic place to get great coffee and breakfast foods. The lines can get a little long, but it's worth the wait! Highly recommended.

Very delicious mexican food, and a great happy hour! Sit at the bar from 5-7 during the week and enjoy $5.00 margaritas and $2.00 fish tacos. The agua fresca is also great.
