Gore Mountain ski area has something for everyone - the bunny hill for those just learning and challenging experts in the clouds. Laid back resort vibe that allows picnic coolers yet has a good pub food restaurant. Summer and fall also is busy at Gore with the Gondola rides to the top for some sightseeing, mountain bike trails, trampolines and other sports available at different times. Fun for all.

Secret swimming hole close by. Right on Rt 8 to the first left turn onto Harrington rd. Keep going until you see no parking signs and a bunch of cars parked. I think you found it.

Nice beach for swimming with young ones, 10 minutes away. Left onto Rt 8 and keep going (over the river) until you see the beach on the left. A bit further on Rt 8 (take a right into town when you see signs) to
Chestertown where there is an old-school ice cream parlor.

Food Scene
Always fresh, usually busy. Great place to stop to pick up something to take back (pie, cake, cookies?) or stay there and relax with an espresso and a baked good. Either way - it is delicious.

Great family restaurant that has the "normal stuff" kids like and some interesting choices for the adults. Reasonable and fun spot. Always busy.

Well kept secret amongst those in the know - wonderful small restaurant with eclectic offerings. Small kids probably wouldn’t do well here.
