Great midsize ski area. Reasonably priced compared to the big named resorts like Vail and Breckenridge. Monarch usually has great snow and not as crowded as the big resorts.

Ski Cooper is another small ski resort with nice runs for the person who seldom skis. This resort is near Leadville, which is about 70-80 miles north of Salida. Reasonable prices and a great place for the beginner.

Only a block away. They have a good selection of grocery items. Their is free parking on the street and they have a parking lot.

Walmart is on Hwy 50 going west from F Street. They have a good selection of things if you can't find what you are looking for at one of the shops downtown. My preference is to support the local downtown shops as they are unique and you know your supporting local artists and small business.
