Pololu Valley trail is a great place to go on a short hike. The trail starts from the top, and you hike down to the bottom of a valley to a beautiful beach black sand. Can be a little intense for beginners, and I would recommend reading more about it on this website:https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/hawaii/pololu-trail

Take the time and the drive if you have a day to spare, and check out one of the active volcanoes this island is built upon! I would recommend going on a weekday to avoid crowds.
