The Butchers' Bridge (Slovene: Mesarski most) is a footbridge crossing the river Ljubljanica. It connects the Ljubljana Central Market and the Petkovšek Embankment (Petkovškovo nabrežje). The bridge was opened in 2010.
The original idea for a bridge was expressed in the 1930s by the architect Jože Plečnik.

The original idea for a bridge was expressed in the 1930s by the architect Jože Plečnik.
Preseren Square is the heart of Ljubljana and a very active place to sit, eat ice cream and watch the people passing by. There is the famous poet's statue looking for his love acroos the square. 900m from apartment.
This is also the point of "Ljubljana Free Tour" every day at 11.00, the tour covers everything from the city centre to the medieval old town to hidden alleys and a whole lot more. The free tour is the best in town!
